stormsfury, HELP---
Do you think it will changeover here in NJ even near the coast. I'm 15 miles away from it. Do you think we will see 4+ from tonights and mondays storm.

Here is my thinking, there is plenty of moisture to the south and it is heavy, and even if it snows lightly all night, which which will not happen, we woulsd still see 5-6 inches of snow, right?

TWC ------ the stiff from ABC7 whatever they both are about as useful to the general population as an over used bed pan.

well heres on possible scenario. lets say that soundings are isothermally near 0C through a deep layer. while 1000-850, and 850-700mb partial thicknesses imply all snow. this would lead me to believe that p-type will be dependent on the strength of the strength of the vertical motions in the column. which when strong can induce dynamical cooling and lead to snow. when UVM is weaker, p-type is likely frz drizzle or sleet.

yep pretty much. its just hard for me to say that we are going to experience a changover with how cold the airmass in place just 24-48hrs ago were. its hard to think that we will see the airmass recover that quickly to go over to rain after temps in the single numbers just a day or two ago. especially with snow on the ground.

So when is this changeover supposed to occur here in North-Central NC? The local Met said it is about to occur. Since I really don't trust them and you guys don't seem to trust them, what do you think?
