J - I just realized something....I have absolutely no idea where you live!!! Your bio doesn't list your city. I know you like to keep a bit of mystery going, but maybe your state would be helpful info. I take it you got snow too.

Starting to melt and drip here in Cincinnati. No longer an icy coating on trees now. Going to tackle that huge pile of snow at the end of our driveway, left by the township's snowplow. That should be fun!

Mary....UPstate SC here...that's close enough is it not? :)

We have frozen roads here..although not even close to the Ice Storm of 2002 that put us out of power for 4 days. This ice has for some reason, not collected on power lines or trees. Its very strange..perhaps the weather experts out there could explain. I mean its 24, 25 degrees this morning..raining...freezing on the roads but not collecting on the trees. I'm guessing it has to be closer to the freezing mark for some reason.

Finally, worst is over, expect more tonight/tomorrow. I have about 5-6" of snow on the ground here.

We have 1/2" ice accum. and an awesome temp inversion with <1/4 mi visib fog. It is sooooo beautiful out, I just came in from taking pics in the yard! :D

For a change the road crews actually treated the roads, so traveling is not bad - plus it's 35º now. The melting has begun!

My kids are the only ones in a 50 mi. radius in school today (on a 2 hr delay). I told them to grin and bear it, because they won't be the ones making it up after Memorial Day.

Who's not checked in yet? Hope all is well!

T hasn't checked in yet. Hope she faired well. Thanks j for your locale, that helps! Can't believe before now I never asked you where you live! LOL Jeremy the closing scroll were quite numerous, perhaps just open schools would have helped! If there were any. I saw many business closings too - Prime Outlets near Columbus closed today! That's about 50 stores. Melting's started here too Donna. Drip, drip.

I stayed home today from work. I brought home work yesterday just in case. My car and driveway was iced over this morning and we had freezing drizzle all day. I didn't want to take the chance. Everything outside has a slight glaze on it.

All schools closed here today too! N.W. Ohio and most of lower Mi. has almost an inch of ice covered by a thick blanket of snow! It's really beautiful outside.....but that's because I'm INSIDE!

Snow has been heavy all day....we've got about 10" down between last night and today. My birdfeeders have been very active toady!.....(got my fingers crossed for another "snow day" for tomorrow!)......p

Another snowy day in Cincinnati. My area picked up 2 inches of white, fluffy snow. Didn't cause any real road problems although some evening activities cancelled. Very cold though. Going down into the teens tonight and wind chill will be near 0. More snow on tap for later in the week and next Sunday into Monday looks interesting again. Seems we're going to end January snowy and in a very active wx pattern. The first 3 weeks of January were boring, cold yes but no snow. It's about time!

A third day off here, school closed AGAIN, and there's no church tonight either...this day I stayed indoors! And who could blame me...it might be 26°, but it feels like it's in the single digits...man it is COLD! Melting has begun here as well...drip, drop, drip.
