NYC Area to get pounded Tues into Wed.

#1 Postby 2 Seam Fastball » Mon Jan 26, 2004 6:39 pm

Up to a foot of snow or more is expected for Tuesday into Wednesday morning. A classic noreaster is in the developing stages and could drop heavy amounts of snow at times.

Be very careful with your expectations with this storm. I think the ETA is probably depicting where the best CSI will setup, but a 50 miles shift either way will make a difference - though it looks like everyone is in for a solid 6"+ around NYC.

15"+ is up there BECAUSE of the elevation and that there will be higher snow ratios and because they trend to do better from these kinds of storms!

Its looking good!

White Plains is right smack in the middle of Westchester. We could be in the 15 inches + range.

I guess you people arnt watching the models. All show drastic reduction in QPF and the only places that will se a foot or more are in far NW NJ and the interior portions of Ct, Mass & lower NY. Looks like the city will get 5-9"
