I got you covered Wxbuddy Colin. I know how divorce feels, my parents went through it when I was 14 1/2 years old. :( It's a huge blow to you because kids at that age tend to grow more attached to one parent than the other (at least IMHO they do) so when the family splits up it's a hard thing to take.

Over the weekend, I got an email at home from our HR person who said, "Steve, sure hope you are feeling better! But you should know that you are a big HERO to some of the young guys out in production...even at YOUR age! The reason being....word is out that you contracted Syphillis. So don't be surprised when you come back and they walk up to you and say, 'way to go, boss! Glad you're having so much fun these days!'"

Syphillis? Shingles? Not quite the same. But it made me laugh. I did remind the guys that it just wasn't worth it and let it go at that!

LOL Steve! Now THERE'S a rumor that you can let float around for a while. :gossip: We all know Mrs. Poppysky knows the truth.
Glad you're starting to feel better. :D

Colin - Sorry to hear about the impending divorce. I'm praying for your family situation.

As hard as it is for me to ask for help - I would like to say I am having some health problems at this time. I have some difficult decisions to make. Any prayers would be greatly appreciated.

Patricia...I trust the God's hand will team up with your good heart to make the decisions you need to make and that good health, permanent good health, will return soon.

I'm still battling the nasty bout with shingles as I end my second week. More pesky than brutal, it still keeps me from getting much sleep. Today, however, I found a comfy spot in the recliner for a couple of hours and was thinking good thoughts (about all of you among other things) and for that time, at least, the pain subsided enough for some peaceful rest. I credit all of your prayers for such blessings as those.

Steve - I believe lack of sleep will unfortunately contribute to that pesky discomfort. I will add peaceful rest to my prayers for you.

Patricia - I am praying for you - not only for healing in your body, but for wisdom and guidance for you and your physicians from our Lord and Savior.

Prayers rising from West Houston for all those who are requesting them. Not that any of you are not in my prayers every night. I just ramp them up a little when a special request comes in.

I Hope I Am not Abusing The System...but

#271 Postby Guest » Sat Jan 24, 2004 8:01 am

I know this pales in comparison to health problems other members have, but I am depressed a little.

Things have been getting better in my life recently. I use to be kind of hesitant about making any changes in my life (yes, I the early 20s). You name it, driving, dating, socializing, etc., I was apprehensive. :(

That was until late 2003. I started to drive, and now am almost a pro at it. :D A MUCH bigger surprise cam during the last quarter of college. I met a real nice girl named Emily. We have gone out a few times. This would be the first girl I have gone out with EVER! So, I am kind of new to it. Definitely it is new to my mind. I just worry about her safety. (THis weekend's weather does not help because she has to drive to and from work in snow and sleet.)

Recently, she has been very busy. She is a single mom, living with her parents, taking many, many hours of school and work. I also worry she is stressing herself out too much. I don't want her to add more to her "plate" by worrying about contacting me or whatnot, but at the same time I don't want her to kind of forget me accidently.

I hope I don't sound self-centered (sorry, if I do :( ) with the last paragraph. It is so difficult to word; I just wish for prayer I will not stress out either.

Thanks for listening! :)

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers Brian...I think you should just tell her, "Please, don't worry about me...work is more important right now. Call me when you have some time and maybe we can do something." ... Or something like that.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers, it was a sad time, but we are getting through! We all are wearing black ribbon on our name tags in memory....

Colin, hang in there, my parents split when I was 11, and trust me, we had our problems, but you will come through!!

Josh, here's to hoping you get a job real soon! (WalMart! LMAO, jk!)

And to everyone else, you will be in my prayers as well! :D

Thanks very much! :) This evening after a LONG 9-hour shift at a grocery store (made even longer with an impending sleet storm), I gave her a ring and talked about 15 to 20 minutes. Depending on her work schedule, she may be able to do something. Heck, it is even possible her daughter may come along, like a stroll around the mall, out to eat and whatnot. The very first time I went out with Emily back on November 21, her daughter, a 5 month old, came along. That was very special! I will keep you guys and gals updated on this when I can.

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers! :)

Just thought I'd update you all.

I turned three job applications in today - one to a grocery store, one to a check cashing place, and one to an auto parts store. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

I paid a price though - my way small dress shoes caused a blister on the bottom of the big toe of each of my feet. :( Now they hurt.
