A 1.75 qpf times a standard 10:1 Snow to water ratio works out to about 18 inches of snow. If it gets colder you could get clobbered with 24 inches of snow!!

ratios would likely be 10 or 12:1. so since 10*1.75=17.5, and 12*1.75=21.0, where 10 and 12 are the snow/liquid ratios and 1.75 is the total QPF, that yeilds 17-21" of snow.

I am in the Pittsburgh region also. But do not get too excited over this storm. It is still a good 4-5 days out and anything can happen between now and then. First worry about school tomorrow and then by Sunday we'll have a better idea on this storm.
