9pm College Park, MD obs

17 cold ones. 4" remaining snow pack. Wondering what all the wind chill nosie is about as my "wind" is 4 mph. Seeing early week storm getting more play, cold air maybe better than for late week but early week does not seem to take the dip far enough south to get good gulf involvement. Thanks

Brrrrrr

#2 Postby WXBUFFJIM » Sat Jan 31, 2004 5:31 pm

It was 12 degrees this morning here in Essex, MD in Baltimore County. BWI dropped to 11 this morning and most places dropped to -5 or lower wind chill readings early this morning across central Maryland. All of Back River is frozen over solid here in eastern Baltimore County and likewise Chesapeake Bay as well. I'll be checking out the Hart Miller Island area tomorrow.

We hit 26 this afternoon, we were lucky to get that warm. Expect 10 tonite near Baltimore and maybe some widespread single digits in the suburbs because of clear skies, light winds, dry arctic air in place and snow cover as well.

13.8 this morning on Fredericksburg. Snow still on the ground. All water including rivers frozen pretty solid. Looks like NWS thinks Mon/Tue event will be more freezing rain than anything else, we will see. They are always so conservative.
