Need prayers again please..

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Tue Feb 03, 2004 12:37 pm

No these aren't for Rachel or Amber this time lol..

My mother is currently in the Phsyciatric ward of a local hospital here in the area.

Last night {according to a call I got from 1 of her nurses} She tried to slit her wrists with a pair of scissors.

I feel really bad because I snuck in the pair of scissors because I was told by her that she wanted to cut her nails.

Pray for her to get better.. :( and please try to help me with prayers. I know the suicide attempt is not my fault, but I really think it is because I was stupid enough to sneak her in the scissors

You have my prayers!! You are right, it is NOT your fault! I have first had experience in this area and I know for a fact that if someone is set on accomplishing suicide, they WILL find a way. You mother is in a good place where she can be watched and start to feel right again. I will keep those prayers flying for you and her both. Stay strong!!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother! Gulf is right - she's in a good place right now where they can keep an eye on her at all times.

Ignore them. Better yet, stay away from them for your own well-being if you can. You're under enough stress worrying about your mother.

Unfortunately for your mother, if it wasn't the scissors, then it probably would've been something else.

You are so right!!! I would tell that person to go away and quit talking to me if they can't be decent. And telling someone they caused something they had no control over is not decent!!!

I can't imagine that someone is telling you it is your fault. That person is nothing but destructive. Your mother manipulated you ( by the way even psychiatrists and professionals can get fooled by patients who are attempting suicide.... I Know..I used to be a family therapist..) Your mother will have to take repsonsibility for her own actions, and I am sure that will be part of her therapy.
you cannot blame yourself.
I hope that your mother will get the good psychiatric treatment and care that she needs.

Not your fault John...not yesterday, not today, and not any time in the future. Your mother has some deep emotional issues that brought her to that point. As Gulfbreezer said, she is looking for a way out...whatever form it took.

Hope she gets help. I pray at my keyboard that she finds it.

John, I am so sorry to hear this situation with your mother. Hopefully everything goes well with your mother. Another for "it was certainly not your fault!"

Praying for better days ahead. :)
