Remember Tomagotchi's? They're back!

Toy news - a new improved version of Tomagotchi's will be out soon. Just an FYI moment from this parent.

This time around I know my kids are too old for this toy craze. Whew! I can remember baby-sitting my daughter Laura's Tomagatchi, many times. Once in the middle of a college class I was taking, it went off in my pocket. I forgot to mute the sound! Luckily the girl next to me, decades younger mind you though, pulled one out of her pocket. Turns out she was baby-sitting her sister's too! You see they were banned from schools.....can see why. I think that was the day I said I wasn't in the Tomagotchi baby-sitting business anymore.....LOL And I didn't even get paid for doing that. Laura kept telling me if you took good care of them they'd fly off to a planet or something. Guess what - they never did that. They always died before that happened. Toys.....gotta love them.

Here's the article I found on them:

Linda - hey at least I wasn't the only parent doing that odd request of a 'job'......LOL

Important piece of info, these new versions are called Tomagotchi Plus, not just Tomagotchi. Can picture a kid saying to his mom - it's a Tomagotchi PLUS MOM!!! And I can even see the roll of the eyes too.....

Tamagotchi Plus is also programmed to cultivate intimacy. The virtual pets can move from friendship to love to marriage. In some cases, a child pops up on the owners' displays.

Once they get married and have baby Tamogotchi's, do you still have to "babysit" the pet Tamogotchi? Do you then have to babysit the baby also? How nuts could that make a person?? I'm sending one to Howard Dean! :)

Oh no. I remember these things too. It's a dark point in my life, but I used to own one myself. I'm so ashamed...
