Winter Storm Forecast with Map!

Well it looks like we may be seeing another big ice event for some and a nice snow event for others. Low pressure should head up into the OV tonight and weaken as a new Coastal low develops along the NJ coast or close to it bring all sorts of weather from heavier snows out in IA and WI to a snow to mix event in the northern OV north of i70 and east of i75 east to Pittsburgh, PA with sig ice possible before a complete changover to some rain at the end of the system.

Another area of heavier snows will be found in Western/Central PA up into NY and then the interior of the NE. Areas close to i95 from NYC on south should see a decent shot of snow giving these areas perhaps 2 - 5 inches before changing to a mix with lots of ice especially n and w of the cities and then Rain. Boston is a tough call as they may get a few more inches of snow then the rest of the i95 corridor but as well should changover to mix precip and then rain. Coastal areas shouldnt be as bad from Cape cod down to the Delmarva and into southern VA and into Parts of NC where most will see some snow initally but then quickly change to a mix (Light Icing)and then lots of rain especially closer to the coast. I will mention i have another discussion in the Severe forum for se VA nad NC about severe weather potentially for friday.

Looks pretty good for D.C. area, maybe not quite as wintry as projected above, but it could go either way depending on track. Flooding will be our bigger issue. Look for FFA soon.

I like where you have Woodbridge, but I am going to face facts: We will have a fast changeover TONIGHT to HEAVY RAIN, which will then continue into 10PM Friday Night. We'll pick up 2+ inches of plain rain easy. MAYBE a light glaze at the onset, nothing more for E Prince William Cnty where I live. We are within 4 miles of the Potomac River then the Ches Bay.

This is plain and simple, a very springlike HEAVY Plain rain for us.

Well i for one do expect you to get some heavy rain from this later on however you will see some wintry wx as well Jeb. Enough to atleast meet what i have on the map before the changeover. Actually areas out towards OH is where the snow amounts anyways may not get to 2 inches but still could see a decent icing event before the change to rain late tonight or early tomorrow morning.

in lawns and roadways have receded, somewhat.

Thats the spirit Breeze. . I think some other people can take a lesson from you seeing how you hold onto that belief when they are already writing winter over and they live about 500 or so miles north of you!

Sorry to hear about all the flooding. Things dont exactly look good either here. My yard has what will soon be a nice size ice skating rink in it. Creeks and rivers are running high here as well. TC and keep us updated!
