31.8 degrees here and moderate to heavy sleet coating everything. Sleet pellets are much larger now then when it started.

745pm and 31 degrees with 23 degree dewpoints. Steady sleet falling, the roads are white with it. The snowpack surface was ice and used to reflect light; the sleet accumulation has changed that. Sleet is accumulating on my sidewalk. The street in front of my house is a hill that is turning white with millions of sleet balls.

Looks like you'll see a couple, maybe even a few inches of snow accums before you get slammed by the freezing rain and sleet.

LOL, Nope Jeb, didn't even get a dusting. Just a few light flurries, as forecasted. Not seeing anything now....

Good luck up there, at least you're below freezing... I may be in trouble, 12z ETA had IAD at 29F at 00z and we're 5 degrees above that right now...

Down to 30 degrees now and 23-degree dewpoint with steady sleet.

Edit: Make that 24 degree dewpoint now......

820pm................................

We just went over to freezing rain in Woodbridge VA with 29 degrees, 25 degree DP. Icing has begun here, smack on top of the sleet and existing snowpack.

Now seeing IP/RA with temps slowly falling towards the freezing mark. We're down to about 33.0F now on my home thermometer (which can be a little high at times), 32F officially at IAD, and my consistently too-low wireless unit is saying 31.1F. Even if we do manage to get below freezing, I'm not going to be comfortable until we go below 30 degrees because we need to allow for the warming from the WAA that may start not long after midnight. PLEASE don't let us get a "surprise" boost above freezing overnight...

Some people will still drive on this stuff. This car got stuck on the ice and the driver was spinning the wheels and getting nowhere fast. It does not take that frzra long to slick up the road when the road is cold, the air temp is 29 degrees, and there is already a layer of sleet on the roads. It took the driver a good while to get the car moving again. Those roads are slicking up something terrible already!!!!!!

8PM wetbulb temps are somewhat reassuring, although the latest obs from IAD shows the DP has quickly risen to 25F from 18F last hour.

30.7 light freezing rain. It is getting quite icy here. There is a layer formed on top of the sleet.
