Barbara Passed Away

#1 Postby Rainband » Thu Feb 05, 2004 9:03 pm

Barbara Lost her battle with cancer this evening. She passed away very peacefully. I just want to say Thank you all for your Prayers. She really appreciated them. I spoke with her about them often. I know we tend to be selfish and expect those we care about to be around forever but she has a higher purpose and now she is Home with her Savior. May god bless you all and once again. Thank you.

I didn't go to see her at hospice because I didn't want to see her like that. I hope she knows it was because I loved her. Her Husband said she did, now I am not sure.

Oh Johnathan, don't second guess yourself. I know, it's hard. Did we tell our loved enough we cared, did we listen enough, hold their hand enough. She knew you were there in spirit. Everyone has their own way of dealing with a terminally ill friend or relative. Some can handle it, then fall apart later. Some have a hard time with hospice or a nursing home. My two brothers handled my dad's cancer differently. One visited all the time during his remaining 5 weeks left. The other didn't, and he was the one I thought I could count on! And the brother who was there every step of the way? He can't bring himself to go to the cemetery. After 15 years, he still can't go there. Hope some of this helps you tonight. Barbara knew how you felt.

I'm sorry to hear that your friend passed away. I believe she's in a better place. I also believe that she knew just how much you cared for her. Don't be hard on yourself. I'd have been the same way as you were. When my mom was in ICU for 4 weeks, I went in to see her once and couldn't bare the things I saw. I was there at the hospital all day and night for the 4 wks, but didn't go in to see her again until she was conscience and talking.
I'll be praying that God will give you comfort in your time of loss.
