Rain Rain Rain.............

#1 Postby Dave C » Fri Feb 06, 2004 11:15 pm

Here in my local area 2 inches rain(south of Boston) with temps holding in the mid 30s. Major basement flooding at my home, anyone else having that problem?. Just 10 miles to my south 45+ temps. Looks like another .5 inch then hopefully drying out :)

In the late 1990's, we (my family and me) had basement flooding during and after a moderate to heavy rainfall with a significant snowpack against the house, when I lived in Bridgewater, MA (for those that don't know, the town bordering Middleboro, MA to the north)

The water came through the sides of where the floor and wall meet. We did our best [most of the time] to get the snow away from the foundation.

It was quite the chore getting the water up.

FORTUNATELY, I didn't have any basement flooding and we've never had any previously. We had over an inch of rain though. It was good that we've have above freezing temps over the last several days before this storm so the snow has had a chance to melt before we were clobbered with the rain.
