Also since febuary of 2001 his approval rating slips to 48% the lowest in his presidency so far.So IMO if these numbers are correct we will see a close election event take place but with many months until election day many things can happen to swing the election one way to another.

just wait until the debates. georgie would be better off not to show up. it would save him the Embarrassment of getting nailed by Kerry on national television.

and folks --- if you think he has a problem Stuttering now, just wait.

but on a serious note, it probably will be another VERY close Election.

I think Bush did great when debating Gore. And I do not see a problem with him debating Kerry either. Kerry will open mouth and insert foot.

John kerry is NOT Al Gore. were not going to be hearing a bunch of "oh lock box this and that" kind of bullshit coming from john kerry.

afterall look what happened after Al Gore endorsed howard dean. he dropped out of the air like the pile of bird crap that he is.

i was a McCain supporter in 2000, but when he lost the nomination to bush i supported Al Gore, and found him to be a little too BORING for my taste.

President Bush wil show Kerry for the liberal that he is. Kerry is riding high in the polls because of all the free publicity. When the real contest gets started Kerry's going to have a uphill battle. I don't think it will be a landslide for Bush but I think he'll win.

Would Bush really be hurt if he issued a statement like this in September "I consdier the debate format to be inconclusive and unfair. It absolutely does not allow the voters to get a true perspective of the candidates' views on the issues. Therefore, I will not participate in any debates whatsoever with John Kerry."

It'd be a 1 or 2 day story for news media types and Kerry would jump all over it, but then wouldn't it be forgotten? And Bush wouldn't have to debate? 1 or 2 days of bad news is not all that bad.

And consider this, Bush has his convention in NYC in September and the convention will give him a huge bounce and place him in the lead even if he is trailing. What motivation would he have in that event to debate?

The public isn't going to turn against him.

This is a pure analysis. I support John Kerry strongly but I also like to be reasonable.

That sound right?

John Kerry will be exposed and will slip up in the debates. The only 2 dems that could go toe to toe with Bush are Leiberman and Edwards, and since Leiberman is out that only leaves one left.

Not to mention that Kerry is a walking contradiction. He was a highly decorated Vietnam Vet and accepted all the awards and publicity. When he came back home he then joined all the radicals such as Jane Fonda against the War in Vietnam.

The mere mention of her name gets my blood boiling. She should thank God her father was a well respected American or she would have been in jail!

I love that movie "On Golden Pond" but IMO she did not deserve the part and did not deserve to be on the same screen as Henry.

Bush is on the defense right now. Once he gets on the offense the numbers will climb.

I don't see GW shrinking from any debate...it should be interesting, to say the least.

Besides, this is Democratic Primary time, and they have the spotlight...and the coverage. Once it boils down to TWO, watch the GOP and GW...they will be more than ready.

MF is right as much as I hate to admit it. History shows that is common for the leading nominee to be above the President in polls at this time. The nominees are all the news in the primaries while the President sits back to wait for a winner. Pres. Bush will be fine as the election gets nearer and a clear challenger is chosen.

Too early to tell who will win... what happens is OBL is found a couple days before the election? It could be 99% to 1%, Bush would still likely win.
