Stephanie wrote:It's not that difficult to color your hair Miss Mary. I don't have to worry about "doing the roots" yet since the semi-permanent color fades away all over.

I know friends that have colored their hair for years and have no idea what their natural color would be right now. They do pay through the nose to get the colors and highlights. I want to spend my money on other things.

Stephanie - I'm with you there! Saves a bundle and it's easy to do! Years ago I used Henna on my hair, in my 20s, so I thought I could do it. Now my 16 year old wants her hair dyed, with red hightlights. Much be all the rage. I told her I do it to cover gray, otherwise I'd never color. I'm trying to get her think really long and hard over that decision! Someone told me to take her to the salon for the first color job. I said are you nuts - you can't match that! Silly advice! Crazy advice. You also can't put over the counter all over color on top of their color! So we do have a box of color sitting around for a test strand. I'm starting her out slow, level 2. I'm at level 3, because 2 did squat on my stubborn grays!!! But I chose a color very close to my natural color, I'm not secretive about coloring. I'll tell anyone I color but some people think I've never had gray hair. I think that's a compliment, at least I know I've chosen a color that's close to what nature gave me, almost. LOL

Would that be punk-ish bright blue, or little old lady blue? I heard that craola was going to adopt both colors.

Ed, that's good they are adding that color to the pallete. I will need them to work on my coloring book at the home!

My youngest daughter wants blue or pink hair too. She's my tomboy, figures right? She hasn't worn a dress in six years and likes to be different. I might let her rinse her hair in the summer with coolaid. Not now though, it's against her present school's dress code. I try not to sweat little things like this. The big picture is more important, IMHO. She's a good kid so I'm not too concerned with this hair thing. A few months ago she decided to whack part of the front into long bangs, below her eyes. Her dad didn't like it one bit and asked me if I was upset. I said hey at least she's trying a new style, after wearing it the same way for five years - just thrown into a messy ponytail! LOL I have two very different daughters - one is a girly-girl and the other a tomboy. They never even set foot in the other's room, so it has it's benefits. I never hear - she was in my room again MOM! LOL
