You cannot "support the troops" then totally bash the Commander-in-Chief and I am tired of liberals trying to have it both ways. Lets face it, if it was Clinton, she would fall all over herself to support him. I have heard some Liberals say they disagree with Bush taken us to war but since we are there, he wishes the President strength in his decision making. That is supporting the troops.

I disagree with you here. You can support the troops, while at the same time, not supporting the decision making of the CIC. They are not the same. That would be the same as if my wife were to allow my daughter to enroll in hockey. I would not support that decision, but I would support my daughter and hope that she did her best. At the same time, hope that the decision to let her join (made by my wife) is a successful one.

And FYI, I fully support the efforts of our troops. I was one at one time.

Would you support your daughter's coach? Thats what the President is. He is the highest ranking soldier. He is one of the troops. You cannot play it both ways.

I can support the team, but not necessarily the decisions of the coach.

The point is, the coach is part of the team. He/she is not an entity of its own.

And the coach is making the decisions for the rest of the team to follow through on.

Yes...and once the game starts, if you support the team you are also supporting the coach.

I know with football, like the Eagles for example, I've supported what the team has done if they've palyed their best, but questioned the heck out of what Andy Reid was thinking with his plays.

The president IS NOT the coach, the Generals are the Coach. The president may be CIC, but he knows nothing about warfare in comparison to the Generals put in charge of the game. Above the generals you have teh secretary of defense, who could be called the athletic director.

The Pres. could possible be called the general manager, which we all know makes some goofy decisions, but the team is still supported even though the actions of the GM are not.
