"Stripped of all makeup
No need for fancy clothes
No cover-ups, push-ups
With him, I don't have to put on a show

He loves every freckle, every curve
Every inch of my skin
Fulfilling me entirely
Taking all of me in
He's real, he's honesty
He's loving me for me"

haven't seen it mentioned here yet...but did anybody see Christina outfit, or lack thereof at the Grammy's?

My jaw dropped and hit the floor with a resounding thud.

You just know the guys in the control booths had to have had their fingers over the buttons to switch the feed away from the stage at a moment's notice. :) And I noticed how when she walked up on stage, they kept the camera from focusing anywhere below her back. I couldn't tell, but it looked somewhat low-cut back there also.

She did comment that she was being careful with her dress. :)

I like music or lines from Music that make you think. Nobody does that better than Yes. Here are a few lines from a song called, “I’ve seen all good people”, a song about chess, but really a song about life being like a chess match. At least that’s what I get from it!

Take a straight and stronger course to the corner of your life.
Make the white queen run so fast she hasn't got time to make you a wife.

'Cause it's time, it's time in time with your time and its news is captured
For the queen to use.
Move me on to any black square,
Use me any time you want,
Just remember that the goal
Is for us all to capture all we want
(Move me on to any black square)
Yea, yea, yea.

Don't surround yourself with yourself,
Move on back two squares,
Send an Instant Karma to me,
Initial it with loving care
Don't surround
Yourself.

Siam's gonna be the witness
To the ultimate test of cerebral fitness
This grips me more than would a
Muddy old river or reclining Buddha

And thank God I'm only watching the game -- controlling it --

I don't see you guys rating
The kind of mate I'm contemplating
I'd let you watch, I would invite you
But the queens we use would not excite you

My Floydian lyric of the day:

Song - "Have a Cigar" from "Wish You Were Here"
(entire song is a collection of phrases, sometimes comical, heard from record co. execs)

"We’re just knocked out. We heard about the sell out.
You gotta get an album out, you owe it to the people.
We’re so happy we can hardly count."

If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes

If Tomorrow Never Comes - Garth Brooks

Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

Unanswered Prayers - Garth Brooks

How about the greatset song....

Oh, say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, now conceals, now discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wiped out their foul footstep's pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, for our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner forever shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Sorry.....but this Great Country is never far from my heart!

Now, didn't this thread start with a request for just one or two specific lines from songs, not entire songs? :)

I think so Duck, but sometimes it's nice to read the whole song. There's alot to think about.

Here's another;

"Memories, light the corners of my mind,
Misty water colored memories,
Of the way we were.

Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind,
Smiles we gave to one another,
Of the way we were.

Can it be that it was all so simple then?
Or has time re-written every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again,
Tell me, would we?
Could we?"

"The Way We Were", Barbara Streisand
