All right Prayer Warriors - Miss Mary is asking for some serious prayers!!! Do your magic, please!
As some of you know my nephew just got back from Iraq. He and my niece (blood relative, mind you) have had computer problems. And we haven't heard from them, much that is, other than thru her mother, my brother's wife. Got all that? Well, my niece just sent out an email to about 20 of us. Good news and bad news she said. Good news was they finally have a good email addy again. Bad news? I was guessing Kris has to go back to Iraq, but noooooo, what came next has absolutely floored me. They've decided to get a divorce. And remain friends. I am almost speechless. My mom doesn't own a computer and thru the many months we supported Kris over there, I'd send copy and past updates and mail them off to Grandma. This one I can't bring myself to copy/paste and then mail it. I'm ready to just cry. They both know many, many couples who have or will get divorced. Soldiers and their wives. Or vice versa. My final comment, outloud mind you, was - Kara, you can't divorce MY nephew. I declared he was my full fledged nephew....I am so sad sitting here writing. I am now praying they have made the right decision. So please tuck their names in your prayer lists - Kara and Kris. Just pray that they think this over. Thanks loads everyone.
I'm very sad as I type this.

My heart and prayers go out to you Mary and to Kris and Kara that they will take things slowly and try to work things out. It seems so quick since he just got back home! A ray of hope in your post - that they will remain friends - perhaps dialogue will continue between them leading to reconciliation. Take care my friend.

Jeremy - I hope both you and your brother will be feeling better shortly!
Miss Mary - The stress that both your nephew and niece have been through while he was at war I'm sure was awful. I do hope that they will be able to find their way back to each other and perhaps holding off on separating and divorcing. My prayers are with you, them, and the rest of your family.

I've just been talking to GulfBreezer...she told me that a friend of her family just died this afternoon...the girl's name was Lindsey, she died skateboarding...doing something she loved...Sandi's son is on his way home right now, and, as you might have expected, she's really taking this hard, has a lot of ties to that family...Please pray for her! Thank you!!!!!! And Sandi, just to re-state what I said, if you need to talk, you let me know, and I am really sorry for your loss!

Oh that is so sad Jeremy! Of course I'll pray. Sandi is such a sweetheart to all of us here, we need to send her lots of prayers right now.
Donna, Stephanie and Joshua - thanks for your kind words. I've learned more about the situation. A divorce has been discussed for quite a while. This past year has been hard on them both and I think in that time span they realized they each want different paths or goals, if you will. They are still good friends and will remain so. It sure took the wind out of my sails though! Did not see this coming at all. I think her email shocked about 40 or 50 of us, many families on both sides. Kris became so special to us all during his time in Iraq. I can't just turn that off. I'll support them right now. No judging from Aunt Mary, oh no! But at the same time I can be a little sad too. They have no children, so that's very fortunate. Well, once again thanks you all! You're the best.

Rock, I'm keeping you and Mitchell in my prayers. Glad to know you are doing better.
Miss Mary, even though the situation with your nephew and his wife seems to be "resolved" I am praying that indeed the best decision has been made and that all avenues of reconciliation have been considered.
My job situation is that I still have a job, which is somewhat of a surprise to me. We will see how long it continues. Meanwhile I still covet everyones prayers that God's will be done in this situation. I also have at least one other "iron in the fire", but it is an out of town assignment about 100 miles NE of Houston in Lufkin, TX.

Miss Mary, I understand all too well what you're going through after receiving the exact same news from my daughter a week after Christmas. Truly heartbreaking but all we can do is be supportive and pray they make the right decisions. My son-in-law was served with the divorce papers last week and is not contesting anything and the fact that your nephew and his wife are remaining friends will make it a little easier to bear for the rest of the family. You will remain in my prayers as it seems the first two weeks you're always a little shell-shocked.
David, well I was waiting to hear on your situation. All I can say is there must be a door waiting for you somewhere that God is waiting on HIS perfect timing to show you. You have remarkable strength and patience and it will only serve you better as you seek His guidance in this uncomfortable situation. As an aside, what a true joy it was meeting you the other night, you must be such a blessing to those around you. You too will be in my prayers as always.

Thank you Jeremy for posting my need for prayers! You are a truly special person! Thank you Mary for your kind words as well. I have found out more about Lindsey, she also suffered head injuries and that is what killed her. She was not wearing a helmet! This is a very sad time! Lindsey was the "town baby sitter" All the kids loved her so much. They set a wooden cross where she fell and all the children have signed it and I sat down there last night in te rain and just cried. When we lose them so young and full of life, it makes it so hard to try to understand and keep faith.
Mary, you and your nephew and family are in my prayers as well. We will never understand the reasons behind things but I think if we just keep the faith that there is a reason, we get through it with the least amount of resistance.
I am going to Lindsey's parents home today to help out. Today is also my oldest sons 19th Bday. I wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day and pray for much love for all of you!

I'm sure you're right David...Sandi, know that the prayers continue from Northern KY today.
Mary, I haven't forgotten you either...that is always tough but especially so when you were so close to them...
David, Hope things work out for you as well!
Now, concerning me and my brother......I was in such pain again last night (suspect it's the way I sit), but put ice on my back and it knocked it out...Mitchell is still recovering...thanks guys!

That's so tragic Gulf about Lindsay! My prayers go out to you and her family.
David - I'm glad to hear that you still have a job so far.
Miss Mary. At least it seems amicable and your right, at least there's no children involved. What is nice is that she stood by him all of that time while he was away even though the divorce had been discussed previously.
