wrkh99, where are you finding that info? I'm hoping it's not just along I20. I'm about 60 miles south of it.

New Orleans met is also talking about snow/sleet from Texas, central La, into Miss. Looks like Saturday. They are worried about Mardi Gras parades being affected down there. :)

Yeah, the New Orleans met mentioned into Central Miss. Sorry I didn't clarify that earlier. Us coastal people will probably get rain. Geez, it has rained in about...........5 seconds. ;)

All this rain is really getting old, it would be nice to get some snow down here but it won't be cold enough for it.

I lived in New Orleans area for 23 years. In all that time it snowed twice. So, I don't really buy into this talk about wintry precip down here. If it happens I'll be pleasantly surprised. OTOH, I lived in Dallas for 8 years and we saw some wintry precip every year. So I guess the thought of wintry precip doesnt make me all that excited. Last year we had 2 inches of snow, then a couple weeks later, 3 inches of sleet. No kidding, 3 inches of sleet. It sleeted the entire night.

If its going to snow in the South it would be sunday night monday when the cold core system moves into the area. It will be precip starved so don't get your hopes up .

Even if the cold air does make it all the way down.
Which I don't enough of at this point.
Then it all becomes a timing issue of the cold and the s/w.

Lots of IF'S as usual.
We'll see.

I would say our chances in the deep south are slim to none, however I might have to take a drive up to Alexandria on Saturday as they could be experiencing frozen precip.
