Please let's not post in other languages because that kind of posting confuses the members thanks.

Indeed S2K, I respectfully submit that different languages are interesting, enriching, and that they are indeed a part of our real-life world. The United States is an amalgam (mixture) of many different cultures and peoples and if you really wish to expand this board, I respectfully admonish you to reconsider your determination for the future of this board. It will not be very many more years before English and even whites are just a minority in a larger globalizing world. I love to learn new acceptable ways to express wholesome ideas in a free world and without different languages, the world would be a gravely boring place.
Many kudos to FLguy and others for opening my eyes to this larger literary reality!!! Man I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT ALL THESE NEW LANGUAGES!!! I EMBRACE different cultures!!!! That is what America is all about folks!!!
That is what that lady in New York Harbor is ALL ABOUT!!!! Diversity!! New Ideas!! The mixing of different peoples in the New World!!
While I respect the people who run this board and who indeed set the policies that we will abide by here, I unashamedly beg of you......
Please let us expand and grow! Interlingual ability is something that EMPLOYERS VALUE in today's world! It has REAL enriching value in society at large, and I do not believe that you can afford to allow modern developing society to pass you by. The Internet is growing literally by the second, and I will continue to have a part in that development. My worship of Snow and Ice is followed closely by that of the Internet and of Web Design. This will be recorded and remembered and the larger world and Internet will continue to grow around you and move onward and you need to be mindful of that fact. It is no trend, IT IS FACT.
Please reconsider your decision.
If you let us post in different languages on your board, I promise to follow whatever guidelines you set. Can we please have a separate section of your board to post in non-English languages?
Pretty please?...........

I understand you, Jeb. It can be fun, I guess, but people like me have not a clue what your saying. For all I know you could be saying "David is stupid." Lol, hopefully you won't do that, but you never know.
Making another forum is a good idea.
Hope you and everyone sees where i'm coming from.
Thanks.

I am not saying or suggesting or implying that you are stupid, David.
You are NOT stupid. You have a Yahoo Group that I enjoy very much. You have a website that I enjoy. Since I have not met you personally, your web developments and your posts are all that I have to go by, but you appear to be a very likable, intelligent person.

Actually, I enjoy having you and everyone else here on this board as web-friends.

It's very cool to come onto this board and see all of you here each day and carry on with all of you like we do and will continue to do for years yet to come. I am glad you finally got to enjoy some good snow this winter.
I agree with you about another possible forum being opened on the S2K board, where those of us who wish to post in English and in other languages can indeed post in those languages, so long as the posts are wholesome and not vulgar and within the guidelines of this weatherboard.
I really do hope that the fine management folks here on this weatherboard will please consider my request for a new forum to be opened on this board where I and other people would be allowed to post about weather and/or whatever subject they like, in any language including English, as long as the subjects posted are within guidelines determined by those people that are in charge of this fine weather discussion facility.
Yep David, I think you are one of the most intelligent members of this weatherboard.
All moderators and administrators of this weatherboard, please consider what I have proposed above. Please consider indulging my literary enthusiasm.

My god...c'mon, it's just for fun. If you don't have the sense to go to http://www.freetranslation.com to see what it means, then just don't read it.

If some of the people had gone to freetranslation.com they would not have liked what they were reading at all!!!
We are indeed a diverse board, international in scope, here at STORM2K, but we are based in an English speaking environment. Not everyone has the time to go to another site to translate something that may have been written in another language and possibly directed at them. Just like people who are challenged in some way that are left out of ball games, etc. by unthinking "friends" those that do not know the language being spoken or directed towards them may feel excluded or "left out" since this is a dominantly English speaking site. Therefore the reason for the posting.
Personally, Colin I take offense to your post. It, to me implies that I and many others do not have any "sense"(translated "smarts"). I did not know freetranslation.com even existed till I read your post. And the fact that the different language was interspersed with my dominant laguage amoung the weather posts makes it difficult to "not read it". JMHO

This statement is so wrong. This country was founding on the idea of a melting pot. A place where people came and took on the ways of our country. Your ancestors from Spain, Germany, China, Zimbabwe or wherever came over and took on our culture, they didn't call them selves whatever-Americans, but were proud to be Americans and wanted to do all they could to build up their new motherland. Diversity is on it's way to destroying this. It's everyman for himself and who cares about this country and what it stands for, as long as I can get what I want, I can always get rich and go back home.

I saw some of those posts and there was a bit of vulgarity that would not be allowed here otherwise. I agree about not posting in other languages. If you want to share your thoughts with everyone, why not do it in a way that everyone will understand (without having to also go to another site to get a translation)? Some of us are multi-tasking enough as it is. We don't need other unnecessary steps to hinder our progress during the day.

Okay. Answer accepted.
Also folks, I need to OWN UP to something here.
Yesterday, I was "speaking Spanish". I am going to admit that I know about 35 words of Spanish and that I used FreeTranslation.Com to make it look like I could "Speak Spanish". I apologize to all the fine Spanish-speaking folks here at S2K and elsewhere on the 'Net and in the real world. Sorry.
But I have discovered that I love the spanish language. However I will speak only standard English here at S2K.
Decent thread!!!
