Wintry weather spotters

#1 Postby Suzi Q » Fri Feb 13, 2004 6:32 am

Calling all you Texas/LA folk. Post here when you'll be able to watch and what you see.

Let's make this a truly memorable Friday the 13th and Valentine's Day.

I'll be on straight through until 10:00 AM tomorrow, starting at 6:00 PM today.

And while we wait, START DOING THAT SNOW DANCE!

I'll be here from 3 p.m. this afternoon until I fall asleep Friday night. I don't think I can pull an allnighter - but I will stay awake as long as I can for the SNOW Watch - this doesn't happen here very oftern.

Nothing is supposed to happen here until Saturday night. If I see a flake or 2, I'll post about it (although I'm not in Tx or La :)

I'm dancing in Dallas! :Partytime: Pretty chilly here - mainly cloudy - but I'll be watching and waiting.

Houston has a much better shot than we do at seeing frozen precip because they are at 39 right now with a DP in the mid 30's...whereas here we are 44 with a DP of 41. Low tonight only 40. It's gonna be all rain

Sorry about that turn of events from Lafayette!!!! I'm originally from Denham Springs - and remember a couple of good snowfalls in mid 80's. I think it snowed two days in a row!!!

You never know about Dallas weather either. As soon as everyone gets hyped up - the weather goes south!

Take care and if there is anything - I'll be taking pictures! It was Feb. 23rd last year when we had about 4 inches of ice. That wasn't much fun.

She's NOT coming!!!!! For those who had asked, I FINALLY screamed at my daughter long enough to convince her NOT to drive home from Dallas tonight or tomorrow through the ice and whatever else.. She called me back and begrudgingly said she'd stay up there. So, LET THE SNOW/SLEET/WINTRY MIX WATCH BEGIN!!!!
And when it does-STAY OFF THE ROADS!!!!! :D

Just talked to my Grandma in Jewett Tx. and she said it was SNOWING like crazy, about 2 inches on ground and the dogs just love it.

Jewett is 172 miles north of Houston and about 150 miles south of D/FW on I45. Then 8 miles west off of I45 :)

Mattie I remember those snows in the 80's too...one of them had to be 4-5" at least. We had about 1.5" of snow about 2 years ago on new years day. BTW, it's 45 here now with a DP of 43! It would take a miracle for snow here.

Looks like a wintry walk may be in my future. Just heard on the 10:00 news that it is snowing pretty hard in Ft. Worth and headed this way. :-) I'm ready! Jeb - a walk in your honor is due!
