Oh the model trends....

#1 Postby ezweather » Fri Feb 13, 2004 9:17 pm

I'm a bit happier this evening as finally the models are showing a pretty important storm to take shape along the East Coast. This could be the week we get major amplification and perhaps a major snow storm. Now, I don't want to get ahead of myself, but at least the models are finally showing what was indicated earlier this week. Still a lot of time between now and Tuesday before the storm. If you took the 12z European run tonight, it really looks good for portions of VA, northeast MD, DE, and Southern NJ. Not out of the question that it affects NYC and into New England. I wonder whats happening out over Greece and Turkey where they had a major snow storm effects us this week. Check out the front page from Turkey.

I would check back later tonight for an updated front page. By the way, great website.

Even the 18z GFS paints a great setup for the Mid Atlantic, particularly for DC up into Philly and points east. At least the solution looks cold enough for snow. Even the qpf is really awsome. Boy, if the ETA was in range, the qpf would look like a Christmas tree.

Okay, I'm excited after what looked like nothing on the models. I heard DTs analyses of the European. He's basically saying what its showing and not saying that will be the official deal. And yes, we can't forget the not so good forecasts from the storm this past week. Will have to see how this whole things unfolds. But the potential for a major winter storm may be increasing. Keep those model trends coming...

Like to hear you input about the upcoming storm.
