Updated RAH Discussion

#1 Postby Weather4Life23 » Mon Feb 16, 2004 6:50 pm

The NWS in Raleigh is debating whether a winter storm watch should be issued due to the latest 18z data.

Update...
looking at the 18z model run...the GFS has come in showing more precipitation over the area...and the ETA model has trended much stronger and closer to the middle Atlantic coast with its surface low.
The possibility of issuing a Winter Storm Watch in the next few
hours cannot be ruled out. We are currently reviewing the latest data to assess the potential for snow banding. Another forecast discussion will be sent to address the forecast update in more detail later this evening.

If you mean the one before yesterday, the problem with that one was there wasnt enough cold air. The storm was already on the charts.. This one isnt and it is making it tough for every weather entusiast and meteorologist alike.
