David, I so very happy to hear that your still gainfully employeed, hang in there Brother, through these trails your being put through, there is a HUGE reward waiting at the end, TRUST ME......God puts us through these tests and if we PASS!!!!
Sandi, rest assured my friend, your in my prayers. Having just lost someone myself.....I know the pain right now is almost unbearable. Having an elderly loved one snatched up and taken home is hard but to have a child, so young, so innocent, so full of life.....I know we don't understand right now how the Lord could call her home so early but He had a reason. You've got my phone numbers, please, fill free to call us ANYTIME you need to talk, we're always here for you sister!
Mary, there are so many other effects of war that we never see, the family life
I can't tell you how many friends of mine when I was in the Navy WAY back when, went through divorces. We would be on a 6 month deployment overseas, we'd pull back into the states, their spouses would meet them on the peir with a Dear John letter. Rest assured Mary, we've got ya covered along with the family.

Hello everyone - a new week starts and I'm much better about my niece's divorce. After talking with her dad, my brother, I can see that this was coming for a long, long time. Over a year. While I'd like to blame the War, I can't. The main thing here is they are parting good-good friends. That's to be commended. So possibly Kris will remain in our lives? I'm hoping so for a while at least. When he has to go back overseas, I still want to write to Kris. And send care packages. Sad part truly is though - we all pictured this young couple finally being a couple again, after being apart for almost a year. That happy ending sort of feeling. We had no idea a divorce was coming! So yes as someone put here it, I was shell shocked. Now I'm okay with it. Well, it's a lesson I'll learn well from for my daughters I imagine. You see my brother had 2 daughters (one was Kara), exactly 10 years ahead of my girls. When they were in Elem. school, my girls were little. When they were busy teens, learning to drive, I took notes. Now that they're grown and on their own, I'm still taking notes! Sometimes your children disappoint you but it's far better to support them and than to criticize them.
Thanks anyway for the prayers everyone!

Can use an extension of prayer and good thoughts for an employee of mine who had a brain aneurysm burst while he was at work earlier this week. At 38 years old, no one knew it was so serious. Brent is now awaiting further evaluation and will likely need surgery.
He's a good employee, recently married a young lady with a 4-year old son from Rio de Janeiro. In his youth, Brent had a tough time. He found his mother shot to death when he was just 16 (by the local minister no less!). His life has been burdened with trauma.
While he recovers and ponders his future, I just ask that you say a few words of prayer or hold a few seconds of silence on his behalf.
Thanks.

Well something is going on as far as the job situation is concerned. I have 2 interviews tomorrow. One is by phone for an out of town position. The other is in town. Again I ask only that prayers be that the Lord's will be done in this situation. I know he will reveal the tight thing t the right time.
Since I have another really nasty cold I am going to call in sick tomorrow so I can get some things I need to do done and do both interviews.

I have a request for the S2K prayer warriors. My youngest daughter Caitlin is going to have surgery in a couple of weeks to have an ovarian cyst removed. She's going to miss 4-6 weeks of school and it's going to be pretty rough on a 13 year old. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated!
