That`s absolutely ludicrous reporting, saying it`s the worst in 100 yrs. God, I`d just love to know where they dream this crap up from.

Moncton, in 1992 I believe recorded over 160cms from a single storm, which is still the record. This storm is no where near that. Moncton has so far got 60cms -/+ 5cms for error. Total on the ground must be around 140cms.

Only the winds were exceptional here. Nova Scotia and PEI were hardest, with Halifax areas close to 100cms of snow.

the Canadian Maritimes were in the midst of one of their worst blizzards ever. By the time the storm ended late on the 2nd, a general 3 to 4 feet had fallen across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Moncton, New Brunswick was buried under 73 inches to set a new all-time single storm record. Winds frequently gusted from 70 to 90 mph. The storm actually backed in from the east and passed very close to Sable Island with a central pressure of 960 millibars (28.35 inches), far deeper than any computer model had forecasted. The backlash of the storm grazed downeast Maine and Cape Cod. Danforth, Maine recorded 13 inches and Wellfleet, Massachusetts measured 7 inches.

I believe this was the February 1-2, 1992 storm. I didn't see the year in your post but am pretty sure that this is the one.

and possibly more snow for Sunday, and into next week too.

as for tonight, the latest METAR says it all really.... although I expect the snow to taper within the next hour as the last band exits.

Well Brit, if you folks don't have the Grit (lol), then I need to come on up there and shovel you out of your 45 inches of snow. There is no need for all your equipment to break down on you and then you have to pay all that money to have it all fixed up, when you can just have Jeb come on up and shovel it all.

That would be the dream of an entire lifetime........To dig 40+ inches of snow in New Brunswick, while lifelong PEI and NB residents gape at the unprecedented spectacle, with their jaws resting on the snowy ground.

Then they'd watch as I conducted a 20-mile jebwalk!!!!!

That would be SO MUCH FUN!!!!!
