Dick Cheney made a fundraising visit to Puerto Rico today

#1 Postby cycloneye » Fri Feb 20, 2004 3:15 pm

As in many places where Bush or Cheney go there were protests against his visit to the island in this one at one side of the condado plaza hotel around 1,000 people chanting slogans such as no blood for oil and other ones.On the other side of the hotel were the Cheney supporters which were estimated to be around 600 people. The 2 groups were separated by the police with barricades and no major incidents happened.About the fundraiser Cheney got $200,000 for the Bush-Cheney campain from the republicans here and his speech at the lunch was about all the war in iraq and the economy. All of this I saw it on TV here as I did not attend that event to protest in favor or against his visit.

He left San Juan around 3:00 PM EST as I saw airforce 2 take off from my condo and now he is on his way to Tampa for another fundraising event.

Hey Linda it was not me who said those old words from the anti-Bush people as it was the protesters over there that said it as I was not there and saw it all on TV here. :)
