The weekend rule (or the Kocin Rule? I think I have heard it called this...)
is right.... BUT!!! Erica posted on another thread that 8 out of the 32 snowstorms for the East Coast have happened on weekdays... and we shall have to see about this one... BECAUSE this one Mother Nature will oblige HOPEFULLY on a weekday...

We shall see what happens.... it is still 6 days out!
January 2000 occurred on a Monday-Tuesday, but DOES NOT fit the SECS rule since ...
Interestingly this oddity does not apply for mid Atlantic snowstorms. For example the January 24 25th 2000 severe Noreaster which dumped some 21" snow in Charlotte and greater than 6" of snow in much of South Carolina...15"- 18" in central Virginia and 12" s of snow in DC...only drop 6" in Philly New York City and Boston... and it was a Monday Tuesday event.

Well thankfully this rule doesnt apply out this way! (That i know of anyways). I think in the end alot of people are gonna be suprised at what happens with this system come mid week. Some wont be but i think more will be for the most part! I will say this that it appears alot of people are failing to see the potential this system has for west of the apps??????
Understandable seeing how most here are from the east side of the apps but either way keep a eye out for what may happen on this side as well especially from KY up into OH and southern IN!
Hopefully the 00z runs will definetly clear up this issue which i do believe will happen especially considering the gfs known southern bias with southern systems! (Just not to far farther north) Give me and 100miles or so track farther north and i will be set and happy. even though the 12z runs wasnt exactly bad either for here!
