Only from you Dude....I agree I am ready for shorts - t-shirts and doing outdoor stuff - too long inside this winter.
After last spring with all the severe weather that kept us on the edge of our seats in the central USA. Wonder if this year will be a repeat.
But I don't think winter is over with just yet.

I am always ready for warm weather.
I don't like winter season because it does not fit in well with the line of work I do.
I do like one good snow storm and then I am ready for spring.
I have told you that winter will be short lived and that we will mostly see mild conditions from the very beginning.
Looking back now I can see I was right.
I was so glad winter panned out the way it did.
I really do not like winter.
I welcome spring with open arms.

Dude - it's OK. Sorry for my rant. It's just that I have seen about 30 threads across all message boards that I visit in the past 3 days proclaiming that winter is over and that they want spring-like temps. I guess I was getting sick & tired of seeing it, especially since there is nearly a full month left to winter. At this point in 1993, who knew that we were going to have the Superstorm in mid-March? At this point in 1997, who knew we were going to have the April Fool's snowstorm for the northern Mid-Atlantic and Northeast? I think it is a tad premature to say "Winter's over" - at least up in my area. Plus, I love winter weather, so I am hoping for at least one more snowstorm.

Pennsylvania can still get good snow in late Feb/late March, you have the elevation/climo, but NE VA where I live its over. I live practically on the TIDAL Potomac River and the winter snows are 199% over for us. Sure we'll have flurries and cold weather, but big winter snows are over for Woodbridge. I'll take my 70s now please

I'll have to correct you here on that one, how can you say that you were right when this was one of the coldest Januaries on record across the Northeast and New England?

Excellent post, Kelly.
And BTW, winter's not over by any means ... even though significant warming in the East is expected by next Sunday/Monday ... however, to say winter's over in the Carolina's right now ... is interesting. After the last 3 days of unseasonably warm temperatures (77º on Saturday) and the upper 60's both Sunday and today... life gets interesting for winter weather lovers in Northern GA, and the Carolinas on Wed night through Friday morning ... with SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL POSSIBLE ...
One thing I must note, remember the timeframe before the Superstorm 1993? Anyone remember how unseasonably warm it was beforehand? Same thing happened before the March 1888 Blizzard ... IMHO, the warmup may not be such a bad thing after all ... cold air gets a chance to pool and build. I've seen it time and time again ...

Technically, Spring beings on March 20th at 1:49 am Eastern. It starts on the 20th more often than it does on the 21st
