Here you go again Dallas

So unfair-this from the NWS this afternoon:

OUR CONCERN CONTINUES TO BE THE EVOLUTION OF THE FRONT...THE
INTRODUCTION OF COLD AIR...THE CHANGE OF PRECIP TO A WINTRY MIX IN THE NORTHWEST...AND THE END OF PRECIP. WE ARE GOING TO CONTINUE WITH THE CURRENT FORECAST FOR A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW IN THE EXTREME NORTHWEST TUESDAY NIGHT...WITH RAIN ELSEWHERE...ENDING BY WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE MAIN REASONING IS THE LACK OF CONFIDENCE...THIS FAR OUT...IN ONE PARTICULAR MODEL OVER ANOTHER GIVEN THEIR DIVERGING AND CHANGING
SOLUTIONS. IN ADDITION...TWO WINTER EVENTS IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS WOULD SEEM TO BE STATISTICALLY UNLIKELY...THOUGH NOT UNHEARD OF IN NORTH TEXAS. AGAIN...FOR NOW WE WILL CONTINUE WITH THE CURRENT FORECAST AND WAIT TO SEE HOW THE EVENT IS HANDLED IN SUBSEQUENT RUNS.

This morning, DFW NWS is still mentioning it for the Northern Counties. DFW not included in the discussion for wintry precip. However, that doesn't mean that they couldn't see a light dusting of sleet and/or snow.

TUESDAY NIGHT AND WENSDAY

THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY ON TUESDAY ACROSS ALL OF NORTH TEXAS.
HOWEVER...THE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY WEAKEN AFTER
DUSK...AS THE UPPER LEVEL STORM FINALLY PUSHES EAST OF THE AREA.
COLD AIR WILL FILTER INTO NORTH TEXAS ON TUESDAY NIGHT...ALLOWING
ANY RESIDUAL PRECIPITATION TO MIX WITH LIGHT SNOW FOR THE REGION
NORTH OF A JACKSBORO...DENTON...COOPER LINE. NO ACCUMULATION IS
EXPECTED.

Here as well. I hope the temps stay in the 60's-70's though. It's crawfish time and those bugs aren't coming out of the mud until the water warms up. :)

Currently 52 degrees here after morning thunderstorms dropped about an inch of rain. We're in a lull right now and it looks like the chances of rain won't be too high tonight. But watch out on Fat Tuesday, it looks like heavy rain with the threat of severe weather will be possible tomorrow night. Definately not the best Mardi Gras weather.
