That song is great. I hope my son looks back on his life one day and says that about me. My wife was pregnant when we met and didn't know it. She eventually had the baby and he was 16 months old when we got married. I have raised him just like my three daughters and he thinks the world of me. My wife has said from time to time that she thinks I favor the girls or whatever, but I told her that is ridiculous, I don't think that way. He is my son, and always will be.

Great testimony to who you are Anthony. Your son is a lucky guy. That song is dedicated to people like you!

Southbound. Breezes blowing. This town ain't my home.
You can slow me down, but I'm going.
If I can turn this road I'm on
Southbound.

- - - - Gone in 60 Seconds - - - -

She broke down and let me in
Made me see where I’ve been
Been down one time
Been down two times
I’m never going back again
You don’t know what it means to win
Come down and see me again
Been down one time
Been down two times
I’m never going back again
- Lindsey Buckingham

The letter that you wrote me
made me stop and wonder why
But I guess you felt like you had
to set things right
Just remember this ole guy
when you look up in the sky
You can see the stars and
still not see the light -that's right
And I'm already gone
And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this victory song
- Eagles

She's got her ticket
I think she gonna use it
Think she going to fly away
No one should try and stop her
Persuade her with their power
She says that her mind is made-
Up
She knows where her ticket takes her
She will find her place in the sun
And she'll fly, fly, fly, fly, fly, fly fly...
-Tracy Chapman

Aah, yes. Tracy Chapman. I saw her on the National Mall at a March for the Homeless. She was great. "Don't you know, their talkin' 'bout a revolution (sounds like a whisper)"

Something about the National Mall historically attracts revolutionaries...
stay away from there around March 20...

Awww, that doesn't scare me. Before I was "enlightened" I was into that kind of stuff. Thank goodness, I came to my senses. :)

Thanks Mary. I am definitely not without problems. But I want my children to look back and know, with out a doubt, that I cared for them and put something into them and didn't let them run around and learn their "values" from every bum that walks downn the street. They are my life.

Sometimes God doesn't answer your prayers for a reason.....I have always liked this song by Garth Brooks.

Just the other night a hometown football game My wife nd I ran into my old high school flame And as I introduced them the past came back to me And I couldn't help but think of the way things used to be She was the one that I'd wanted for all times And each night I'd spend prayin' that God would make her mine And if he'd only grant me this wish I wished back then I'd never ask for anything again Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers She wasn't quite the angel that I remembered in my dreams And I could tell that time had changed me Inn her eyes too it seemed We tried to talk about the old days There wasn't much we could recall I guess the Lord knows what he's doin' after all And as she walked away and I looked at my wife And then and there I thankedd the good Lord For the gifts in my life Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs That just because he may not answer doesn't mean he don't care Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers Some of God's greatest gifts are all too often unanswered... Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

Been listening to some Neil Young today....now here is a guy with some great lyrics.

This one always cracks me a smile, and I've often wondered what Neil really meant by writing this song:

I was thinking that maybe I'd get a maid
Find a place nearby for her to stay.
Just someone to keep my house clean,
Fix my meals and go away.

A maid. A man needs a maid.

 Donna, brings another song to mind.

By Barbra Mandrell
Sleeping single in a double bed
Thinking over things I wish I'd said
I should have held you but I let you go
Now I'm the one sleeping all alo-oh-one

Sleeping single in a double bed (ooh-oo-ooh)
Tossing, turning, trying to forget (ahh-ah)
I could be lying with you instead
I'm sleeping single in a double bed

I'd pour me a drink, but I'd only be sorry
'Cause drinking doubles alone, don't make it a par-arty
Another sleepless night and it's the same old stor-ory
When you're the only one at two in the morning

I-I'm sleeping single in a double bed (ooh-oo-ooh)
Thinking over things I wish I'd said (ahh-ah)
I should have held you but I let you go
Now I'm the one sleeping all alo-oh-one

Sleeping single in a double bed
Tossing, turning, trying to forget (you-ou)
I could by lying with you instead
I'm sleeping single in a double bed

I'm sleeping single in a double bed (ah-hah-ah)
Thinking over things I wish I'd said (ooh-ooh)
I should have held you but I let you go
Now I'm the one sleeping all alo-oh-one

Sleeping single in a double bed (ah-hah-ah)
Tossing, turning, trying to forget (you-ou)
I could be lying with you instead
I'm sleeping single in a double bed

I-Im sleeping single in a double bed
Thinking over things I wish I'd said (fade)

More Neil, and appropriate for this site

Hey isobar....I think this is about one of his maids :)

You are like a hurricane
There's calm in your eye.
And I'm gettin' blown away
To somewhere safer
where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but
I'm getting blown away.

LOL
Yeah, women are like weather, and some men are living in Tornado Alley.

Since we're on a weather kick, here's some Dylan ...

Suddenly I turned around and she was standin' there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair.
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

LOL, Donna!

Apparently we men have been living in the wild weather for quite a while as attested by Lou Christie's 60's hit...

Lightnin Striking Again

Baby the raindrops play for me
A lonely rhapsody 'cause on our first date
We were makin' out in the rain

And in this car our love went much too far
It was exciting as thunder
Tonight I wonder where you are

Refrain:
The windshield wipers seemed to say
"Together - together - together - together"
And now they are saying
"Oh, ne...ver, ne...ver"
Ooh-wee, ooh-wee, baby

Chorus:
Rhapsody in the rain
Rhapsody in the rain
Angels keep cryin' for me (don't... stop)
Angels keep cryin' for me (don't... stop)

Baby, I'm parked outside your door
Remember makin' love, makin' love, we were makin' love in the storm
(sha-la-la-la la-la)

Refrain 2:
And then a flash from above
Lightning - lightning - lightning - lightning
Just li-ike our love
It was exciting, exciting
Ooh-wee, ooh-wee, baby

....and Donna, apparently this wasn't a couple of weather watchers in that car...or they would have paid more attention to the storm outside!!!!
