Power issues in CLT...
Power issues have likely become a problem tonight as another band of heavy snow is pummeling the area ...

Power outages are nothing to want, and they cause a lot of terrible problems.
That said, I would not mind a power outage for 2 entire weeks, IF it were caused by 36 inches of heavy wet snow in March right here where I live.
Nobody, but nobody would ever hear a peep from me, except soaring ecstasy as I shoveled all that snow by myself while fervently praying for all of VDOT's plows to get inextricably stuck for days and days on end while I FINALLY get a chance to dig some serious snow for once lol
Yeah no one wants a power outage...........but if the cost of heavy, precious snow is a terrible power outage, then PLEASE bring on insane amounts of heavy snow on Woodbridge as I proceed to dig Woodbridge VA out of the snow, as thousands of bewildered northeastern Virginia residents gawk, with their jaws resting on the ground.
If I ever get to experience 6 hours of severe thundersnows replete with severe heavy snow and 18-inch plus accumulations, I sure would not be crying about a power outage.
I would be digging snow and giving the Virginia Department of Transportation an object lesson in snow removal.

I personally enkoy it when the power goes out.. the only thing I truly miss is a hot shower. I had a pretty severe ice storm back home on December 22-23, 1998. We saw as much as 1 1/2" of ice and power was out for 7 days. It was actually quite fun, especially at night. I live in a rural area anyway, but the sky was so awesome with light reflected off of the ice. The sound of trees and their branches breaking (some VERY big) was kinda eerie, but kinda cool at the same time. Everything was peaceful, aside from the persistant snapping of wood.... Good times.. really good Christmas that year..

Certainly something to watch out for with heavy wet snow and some wind gusts combined. Tree limbs falling onto powerlines. That could lead to power outages.
Charlotte, NC just came in with a foot of snow. 12" on the ground in Charlotte officially. 18" unofficially south of Charlotte. Boone, NC has received 11" of snow.

Not too good in regard to losing heat and you don't have a space heater and/or back up power for it...
