New forum based in Canada...

#1 Postby mf_dolphin » Fri Feb 27, 2004 4:38 pm

From our friend BritBob with our best wishes! :-)

As some of you may or not be aware, I have been deciding over the idea of building a forum board for maritimesweather.com (my site).

I`ve been playing around configuring different forum packages, and decided to plump with phpBB2 software, purely because it is so user friendly and easily installed into mysql database.

The forum is setup on the database, and should be active within the next few hours. Registrations can be taken now.

I intend the forum to be a place for debate and discussion within the meteorological field, where new members can ask questions and more experienced people from the world of weather can share that knowledge. You can also place your current conditions, debate the latest models and a whole host of other weather chat. Please remember that this will be a weather forum, and I would like to see posts based on that fact. Trolling, profanities and abusive posts would not be tolerated.

The site is based in New Brunswick, Canada and would be targeted at mainly Canadians, for our diverse weather that we share in the Great White North, not just months of subzero weather! Of course, members from overseas and of course from the US would be more than welcome to join.

I would like to take this opportunity in thanking Storm2k for allowing this post:)

Regards,
Bob.

Hi all,

Wasn`t too sure where to put this but as there is already a thread for me  .........

Anyways, just to let you know we opened a new forum called `Science and Space` which appears to be proving popular.

As always, it`s for serious debate despite the temptation to talk Star Trek!

Link to the board in my signature.

Thanks Admins.
