Was the groundhog wrong???????????

#1 Postby NCGal » Sun Feb 29, 2004 8:36 pm

Here in Johnston County, NC we got about 4 1/2 inches of snow out of last Thursday/ Friday's event. It's almost all gone now as temps have been in the 60's. Next week for most of the week our temps are supposed to be in the 70's. Seems Spring is on it's way. Was last week our last chance of seeing snow this winter or is there the chance we may get one more winter blast this year???

I would've sworn that the groundhog was right on this year. However, we're having a taste of spring ourselves now. This is one time I won't mind the groundhog being wrong.

Will really depend on where you are at if he was right or wrong. Right now so far he is comming up short but that doesnt mean it cant change either.

Remember too falks that when he says 6 more weeks of winter that from Feb1st to the calendar first day of spring is 6 weeks away.

Alot of our forecasters have been saying that - but Nor'easters can be rain or snow. March is a very tempestuous month.

As far as I know they are. Flguy should be reinstated now. I hope that they both choose to come back and offer their insight to the weather.

The ground hog is always right.

6 more weeks of winter or spring............does not matter.

Figure out the math and you will see.

Always puts us around March 20th no matter how you look at it. :)

March 21st is the first day of spring.
