1123 AM CST THU MAR 4 2004

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN ANGELO HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
TAYLOR COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL TEXAS
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF ABILENE

* UNTIL 1215 PM CST

* AT 1121 AM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO 17 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF TUSCOLA...OR ABOUT 9 MILES NORTHWEST OF WINTERS...
MOVING NORTHEAST AT 50 MPH.

* THE TORNADO IS EXPECTED TO BE NEAR...
TUSCOLA BY 1135 AM CST
BUFFALO GAP AND VIEW BY 1140 AM CST
POTOSI AND DYESS AFB BY 1145 AM CST
ABILENE BY 1150 AM CST

THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A
WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS
AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN
INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO
COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

On the Netcast, they are reporting 18-wheelers being blown off the Interstate.
