The Blonde Cookbook

#1 Postby bfez1 » Wed Mar 03, 2004 11:01 am

MONDAY: It's fun to cook for Bob. Today I made
angel food cake. The recipe said beat 12 eggs separately.
The neighbors were nice enough to loan me some extra bowls.

TUESDAY: Bob wanted fruit salad for supper.
The recipe said serve
without dressing. So I didn't dress. What a
surprise when Bob brought a
friend home for supper.

WEDNESDAY: A good day for rice. The recipe said
wash thoroughly before
steaming the rice. It seemed kinda of silly but I
took a bath. I can't
say it improved the rice any.

THURSDAY: Today Bob asked for salad again. I tried
a new recipe. It said
prepare ingredients, then toss on a bed of Lettuce
one hour before
serving. Which is what led up to Bob asking me why
I was rolling around
in the garden.

FRIDAY: I found an easy recipe for cookies. It
said put all ingredients
in bowl and beat it. There must have been
something wrong with this
recipe. When I got back, everything was the same
as when I left.

SATURDAY: Bob did the shopping today and brought
home a chicken. He asked
me to dress it for Sunday (oh boy). For some
reason Bob keeps counting to
ten before talking.

SUNDAY: Bob's folks came to dinner. I wanted to
serve a roast. All I
could find was hamburger. Suddenly I had a flash
of genius. I put the
hamburger in the oven and set the controls for
roast. It still came out
hamburger, much to my disappointment.

GOOD NIGHT DEAR DIARY. This has been a very
exciting week. I am eager for
tomorrow to come so I can try out a new recipe on
Bob. If we could just
get a bigger oven, I would like to surprise him
with Chocolate Moose.

From one blonde to another

FROM ONE BLONDE TO ANOTHER

I wouldn't suggest the chocolate moose. The chocolate won't stick to the antlers and it's really hard to catch the dang thing to begin with.

To beat eggs separately, I suggest using cups instead of bowls.

When serving a salad undressed, have your husband call first before he comes home.

I can't see how my washing has affected my rice either.

Tossing on a bed of lettuce works best for "wilted greens".

The trick to putting the cookie dough in a bowl and beating it is that the bowl has to be oven proof and you must put it in a 375° oven for 20 minutes. Now it will cook in one big lump, but can be easily broken apart.

Dressing a chicken is difficult, I agree with you. Tell Bob to count to 100 and you should have no problem. Tie a rope around the chicken's neck. My chickens always try to run away after I dress them. Oh, by the way, they look terrific in Red.

You're so right about the roast. I did use hot dogs one time and it turned out to be a weiner roast.

Please, what ever you do, don't even attempt pineapple upside down cake. Phew, what a mess it makes in the oven.

It is difficult to find a chocolate moose. My advice is to raise a moose and don't let it eat anything but chocolate, nor drink anything but chocolate milk.
