Do you use IRC, Helen? I just logged in and no one else is there but GuardDog.
If you can use IRC, go to "File" and "Select Server." Then click "Add" and enter "63.110.124.9" in the box next to "IRC server." Click "Add" and then "Connect to server." I was able to log in just fine that way.
As far as linking into Java chat goes, I don't know what to tell you. I clicked on it and got "page could not be displayed."

the java version of chat (which you are having trouble with) is obviously still not working. When I click on it, I get "Cannot find server." Rain, what Duck was talking about is IRC, a chat room in which you download and log on to the same server. I hope that wasn't too confusing! I don't know of any other way of describing it.
