THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY NJ HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
CENTRAL KENT COUNTY IN CENTRAL DELAWARE.
NORTHEASTERN CAROLINE COUNTY IN EASTERN MARYLAND.
SOUTHERN KENT COUNTY IN NORTHEAST MARYLAND.
NORTHEASTERN QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY IN NORTHEAST MARYLAND.

* UNTIL 515 PM EST.

* AT 417 PM EST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM... 9 MILES WEST OF CHESTERTOWN...MOVING EAST AT
60 MPH.

* THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL BE NEAR...
CHURCH HILL AT 430 PM.
SUDLERSVILLE...MILLINGTON AT 435 PM.
HARTLY AT 445 PM.
CAMDEN...WOODSIDE...CHESWOLD...VIOLA AT 450 PM.
DOVER...RISING SUN AT 455 PM.

FOR THE LATEST STORM INFORMATION...PLEASE TUNE TO NOAA WEATHER
RADIO...YOUR LOCAL RADIO OR TELEVISION STATION...OR YOUR CABLE
TELEVISION OUTLET.

The locations that this warning was in effect for were 25 to 40 miles north and west of the Baltimore/Washington D.C.

How sad. :cry: I never knew the storm was that bad. Shoulden't they carry a NOAA Weather Radio on board those things? So if they hear a warning/or even a short term forecast for thunderstorms possible, they can head back and wait until the storms over?


Makes me feel even more lucky that nothing happend while I was on a boat ride during a severe thunderstorm, in the inner harbor a couple of years ago.
