Think I'll go "warsh" the car, instead of "wash"

Pet peeve is when people end sentences with "Ya know what I mean" Or "Ya see what I'm saying" I think to myself... No, I don't know what you mean and how am I supposed to see what you are saying. ROFL!

Have a sister that does that. Drives me batty. lol.

I was thinking the same thing while reading the other posts, and then I got to your post, Linda!

It drives me especially crazy when I'm on the phone with someone and while telling me something they keep asking "see what I'm saying?"

Drives me batty too! LOL

Had a Physics Professor who started almost every sentence with "Now look....."

We'd tell him, "Now look, we're going down to Tad's for a beer, want to join us"?

My peeves are not so much about the words people use, but rather people who just won't shut up!

I guess that the words I hate the most to hear from others are "I want."

Regarding word usage...in this case...directions...I've heard peeps on occasion here in Roa Rpds tell someone where they would be going during light chit chat..."I'll be going up to Rocky Mount, NC ( actually it's DOWN there...south of my area) OR "I'll be going down to Richmond, VA (when it's NORTH of here)...this includes some adults...obviously a geography lesson is NEEDED!

Yes, Eric. That bothers me too. If they go "down" somewhere... they need to be heading south. If they are going "up" they need to be heading north. ;) I never understood why some don't grasp that concept.

Just heard one here at work! One of the guys out back said he had a great "ideal." I went out and asked him what it was that was so special about him.

"No," he said, "I just have a really good ideal on how to solve this problem."

"Idea...that's the word, idea!"

Steve, when I lived in lower NY state...natives there would mispronounce idea calling it idear...and having worked at a hotel here in Roa Rpds...the GM was a native from MD and said idear, too. It always cracked me up inside but I never laughed aloud...it was kinda hard to keep it in but I managed to.

In regards to "up" and "down," what if where they're going is south (down) but at a higher elevation (up)?

My aunt couldn't pronounce Vitamin -- they were called vitiums and still are to this day. No matter how many times we tried to help her, they were vitiums and always will be.
