hey stormsfury... i did not know your father passed away. i extend deep empathetic condolences as my father passed away too but on february second. i would assume february was a tough month for you, it was for me. i hope that you will be ok, i'm slowly coming to grips with it all myself and here we are already well into march. "one day at a time" they say and so far it is working... p

(this event is why i've been laying low on s2k up until recent so i missed any posting regarding your father. as per your pics, good to see you smiling in the company of family and friends, i've been doing the same.)

OMG, dude, I'm sorry to hear about your loss as well and I definitely can relate, my friend ... I created a memorandum page for my father, and I'm going to read yours right after I finish this post ... and yes, it's been EXTREMELY rough. Without the company of my friend, Becky and especially her daughter (Makayla), I'm sure I would have gone insane or worse ... Believe me, it's been no joyride and that's with everything ...
I'm been posting less and dealing with more things ... and a lot of things haven't gone well, between stressing about money, work, this house (which my stepmother and myself are trying to continue to hold onto, which COULD become mine eventually, provided we can still afford it ...) ... I've been spending a lot of time with my friend and her daughter, but what's the hardest thing to deal with is that Becky started dating someone that she dated before off and on, and it's possible that they are getting a little bit closer (more involved ...), and it's rough since she knows how I feel about her. It's even harder to hear her daughter ask a lot of questions about myself and her.
I've been singing more and more lately, and it's mostly darker songs that I relate to (lyrically speaking) like "So Far Away"-Staind,"Send the Pain Below"-Chevelle,"Bring Me To Life"-Evanescence (my friend, Udana, and myself on Paul McCoy's parts),"The Red"-Chevelle,"Weak and Powerless"-A Perfect Circle ... etc ...
Definitely keep in touch, pawlee.

I'm in tears right now after I read your page, pawlee ...
This is mine for my father ...

Edit: I remember finishing my new photo pages and such (and starting this thread) with a revamp on the day that he passed ... I also met Becky's daughter the same day (4 hours before) my father passed ... IMHO, there's NO coincidence, and there's NO coincidence that Becky was with me when he passed ... I was over at her place when she suddenly wanted to get her blankets that I washed/dried for her earlier that day ... just at that time ... another more than just a coincidence. Becky and I were the last to be with him when he was still here, and I was the final one who gave the blessing that it was ok for him to go ... within a few minutes, he passed...

hey stormsfury, seeing as he died of cancer, i really feel for you. my dad battled head/neck cancer for 18 years. the doctors said he should have been gone a long time ago but it was his desire to watch my youngest sister grow up which is how he hung on. my father was in great pain towards the end however he went peacefully. i hope your dad didn't suffer much. both of our dad's were way too young; so unfortunate as it seems so many are dying at such young ages these days when you would think that with the wonders of our time, they would live for eternity. thanks for sharing his story... p
(ps: josh... equally sorry to hear of your loss.)

Thank you, pawlee, for sharing your story ... My father battled lung cancer for 2½ years, and actually, that was 2 years longer than the doctors originally gave him ... between that time he was diagnosed, he suffered a minor heart attack, and stroke in that timeframe. Unfortunately, the last year, he was in a lot of pain, but he held on because I wasn't ready to let go ... until that night he passed. I was happy that he made it past the holidays, but yes, he went way before his time, as well as your father.
Joshua, my sincere sympathies go to you, too ... and I am equally sorry about your loss, too. I think it would be a good idea to create something for your father as a tribute to him as you obviously loved him like pawlee and myself loved our fathers.

(i got a shaved head but mine was always short so no big change for me.)
A combination of things ... Becky was the one that decided it for me, but in a way it's sort of a Japanese custom (being half-Japanese) to do something like this to mourn the loss of a loved one ... and he always wanted to see me cut my hair ... well, he did from heaven and to honor his memory ...

well my friend, you look good with it. when i finally decided to say the hell with hair was about two years ago when i was protesting some drama at my work and decided to opt for more of a boot camp persona to make a statement. it worked...

Hmmm ... well, that gives me an idea with work as well with all the stress that they've been giving me this year ... but I've already shaved the hair ... a piercing, maybe? ... LOL ...
Anyways, thanks ... I'd say about 98% of people like the new look ... ironically, Becky's daughter, Makayla liked the long hair better ... (go figure, eh?)

pawlee wrote:so when are you going to get some audio or video of your singing up there for us?
Well, that might be awhile ... I had originally scheduled a recording session last year, but just about that time, everything got chaotic. I was working 50 hours plus a week (many 10 hour days) and very little time to much of anything else ...
Now that I have some time, no money, or some money, and no time ... but I have GOT to at least get some audio and I will probably put it up on a special (probably hidden) page, or just direct link it ...
Last night was the first time I sang out since my tooth was extracted ... and everything went well ... a young lady, Kimberly, yelled out, "Quit your day job, cause you're too good of a singer! You need to be making money with that voice!" ... I was flattered ...
I hopefully will be able to record a couple of tracks soon ...
