Snowing in D.C.

#1 Postby Lowpressure » Tue Mar 09, 2004 12:34 pm

Just had a burst of heavy snow here in Alexandria, did not stick 44 degrees and bad sun angle. Pretty to look at. Instability increasing here quickly. NWS needs to pay attention, going to 28 tonight. They just added some mix in the central VA and lower MD areas for today.

YODA- Probably nothing if things pan out for us as they have lately. It has not snowed on us since my last report.

It's been snowing on and off all day...it'd be nice if it would stick on SOMETHING. :(

No snow here in central Maryland where I live in Essex. But precipitation has been very close to us. It's 45 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and some scattered instability rain and snow showers. Very cold air aloft. Lots of stratocumulus clouds today. Even if the coastal low misses the western shore of the bay including Washington, more instability is likely to result in more rain or snow showers possibly in bursts during the day Wednesday and into Wednesday evening as well.

Flurries over northern Howard County now..moving south..looks like I'll see some flakes...if I do, it'll be the first snowflake I've seen since January 27th.
