The last two weeks have been kind temperature wise, with daytimes around the -2C mark, but with the March sunshine feels great.
IMO it beats the -40C horrid weather that we were getting back in January which incidently froze the local river solid from top to bottom.
The river is very tidal and extremely silted up, indeed the river is a tourist attraction for the fact it gets some of the highest tides in the world, with 2 metre tidal bore on the highest of tides.
So, it`s quite impressive to watch high tide while the river is choked with ice, with the tidal bore forcing huge chunks of ice into the air, kind of like ice floes surfing a wave!
Now, the recent milder temperatures and last weeks exceptional high tide have broken the ice. The river banks are still frozen, and make quite an eerie sound as the bank breaks away and falls into the river.

Vehicle size ice floes following the river out to sea, and the river bed and banks all broken up...
