Photos Show Fast-Food Restaurant Workers Bathing In Kitchen Sink
Pictures Turn Up At Pharmacy

POSTED: 9:10 am EST March 10, 2004
UPDATED: 10:44 am EST March 10, 2004

ADVANCE, N.C. -- State law requires restaurant workers to keep their hands clean. Two employees of a Wendy's in Davie County took it a little further.

Health officials said the two workers were photographed bathing in a dishwashing sink at the fast-food restaurant in Advance. The sink has cleaning jets and is normally used to wash pots, pans and other cookware.

Davie County Health Department Director Barry Bass said photographs of two men in swimsuits taking turns bathing in the large, bubble-filled sink prompted an investigation. Bass said while he's never seen anything like it, the act didn't pose a health hazard.

Health officials said the restaurant manager assured them that the sink had been sanitized.

The pictures turned up at a CVS pharmacy. A photo technician alerted authorities.

So far, no comment from Wendy's.

ROFL!!!! Those sinks are definitely big enough to hold a person, I used to work at a Wendy's! The only thing is I can't imagine them not being bumped up pretty bad, those are strong jets!

LOL! I kinda was hoping that what he meant also -- as opposed to those of us who may have bathed in a Wendy's dishwasher sink when we were kids? LOL!

It's sad enough to imagine those who travel and bathe in rest area and gas stations bathrooms.

Ewwww! Imagine a customer tapping on the door and edging it open because the restroom needs soap or something and finding that....

I never cared much for Wendy's anyway.

Yes, My mom bathed me in the sink. We lived in a house with running water in the kitchen but had an outhouse until I was 4. I don't know what they did for a shower or bath, but I was small enough to fit in the sink. But to do it in a restaurant as an adult? Blech!!!! But with the pictures being taken, it seems like it was done as a joke or something.
