E.Lakes, N.OV, NE Big Cold, Wind and yes Snow on the way!

#1 Postby Guest » Fri Apr 02, 2004 4:41 pm

Thought the last couple of days was cold? Think again! Saturday a front will be making its way south out of Canada into the Lakes and then eventually the OV and the NE bringing with it a very cold blast of artic air for this time of year to these areas and as well a decent snow event from the lower eastern lakes into the n.ov and on over into the northeast as a low develops along the artic front and deepens rapidly as it heads northeast off the new england coast bringing with it heavy snows perhaps to the sne coast and even some snow perhaps down into NYC and along with the snow will be some very strong winds to go along with it perhaps creating blizzard conditions for the interior of the NE. And the Lake effect machine will kick in as well especially from Saturday night on thru till Monday for the eastern Lakes. Winds will start out in northerly direction and eventually go to a NW flow so alot of people will get in on this action even here where i am at will perhaps see several inches of the white stuff by sunday afternoon!

Those that have anything planted and sprouting may wanna protect them because by sunday night most places from about KY/TN north will drop below freezing. Forecasted low for here where i am at is supposed to be in the low 20s on Sunday night!

I will have more on this later with some map's perhaps!

Yeah Jeb i agree i am ready for some spring warmth as well. This cold has gotten real old with me. Tomorrow night its supposed to dip down to about 18! That happens it will be the coldest April temp i have ever seen!

Its a tough call for here tonight and tomorrow as far as how much snow will fall. Should be at most a couple of inches. The heavier stuff looks to stay up towards NE OH up into nw PA and western NY on into the interior of the NE.

Okay, this S*CKS!! It's starting to remind me of last year, and that was one wet and gloomy spring and summer.

Gee, thanks Chris!!

It's funny how we used to talk about and complain how winter went right into summer around here - there was barely an inbetween. With the exception of what DT showed us, I guess we're finally getting our more "normal" springlike conditions.
