Did you shop at Wal-Mart on March 31st?

If so, did you pay with Visa or Mastercard? If you answered yes to these questions, you may want to check your bank statement......Wal-mart computers accidentally double and triple billed customers that day. Here's an article about it:

http://www.abcnews.go.com/wire/Business ... _1508.html

The article states that Wal-Mart credited customers already, but you should still check to be sure.

This actually happened to me once at Kmart. I was double billed and Kmart fought it at first. The amount wasn't even, somewhere around $51.23 or so. After I pleaded my case several times, questioning why I would make two transactions in one day, and both for the same exact amount, they agreed - it was their mistake. And they credited me.

I used my debit card that day. My bank caught the error and contacted me directly. Otherwise, I would have been triple billed.

I am just sure WalMart did not make this mistake. You must be wrong. Only below average stores like Target and (ahem) K-Mart could do such juvenile things. ;)

You'd have to pay me a considerable amount of money to get me to shop at a Wal-Mart. That store is such a hole.

Don't know how this topic turned into which store/chain is superior - Wal-Mart/Target/Kmart - but it did somehow. My intent was only to alert others in case you are double or triple charged! But that said, I do second Bunch's opinion on Wal-Mart....you see we must have the most run down/cluttered/disorganized Wal-Mart in the nation in my area. I'll admit they have great prices, a really good fishing and camping section, a sewing section (other stores used to carry sewing/fabric supplies), etc. But to venture in that store really taxes my patience level. By the time I'm done shopping, I'm usually fed up with the poor way the store is laid out. Kmart is the same way - the very aisle everyone is trying to maneuver is packed full of weekly specials.

Now contrast that type of shopping experience to Target and well, IMHO, since we'll all giving them now, is a breath of fresh air! Target is always very clean, well organized, and the main aisle or thorough fare is wide and open for foot traffic and people pushing carts, also empty of weekly specials.

So give me Target, anyday over Wal-Mart or Kmart.

Finally, I have been told that my area really got jipped in the Wal-Mart supercenter dept. So much so, that if I were plunked down into the middle of one of their nicer, premo stores, I'd love shopping at a Wal-Mart. So until the day I have one of those dream of a Wal-Mart's, I can only dread shopping at the one I do have.

I'm done......
