Let's hope that if that happens they check every piece of the shuttle and dont let a minuscular thing off or tested so no more tragedys happen again in the space program.

I agree JQ that a more longer period of time is needed to check all the systems.

I am no longer going to watch the lift off or watch for them to enter the Earth's atmosphere. Both times I have watched, both have met tragic fate.
My heart can't take it anymore. I hope from now on everything is okay for the astronauts and our space missions aboard the Shuttles. :D

They should wait to make sure everything is in check yes, but also not rush back into this even though we have these missions...seems like we are not making great strides as we once did.

I agree they should inspect everything with a fine tooth comb. It is great that they are not going to ground the shuttle program alltogether....continue to go up and beyond. I love the night launches, I can see the seperation of the boosters from my house just above my tree line. My whole family stands outside and watches as the shuttle becomes a tiny little speck of light.

I think it is great if they are able to launch a shuttle this fall. I do agree that they need to have extremely thorough inspections prior to the launch, but I think waiting too long is also not a good thing. Yes, what happened last month was very tragic, but the space program must continue doing their work. The ratio of shuttle tragedies to total shuttle missions is still extremely low.
