this was always going to happen. and its best to kill the terrorists now, before june 30. its not a popular uprising.
the militants have become desperate. they know they cant wait till the govt is handed over. they have to prevent that from happening. im glad they are out in the open.
too many people forget that the iraqis are like anyone else. they want prosperity, and safety for their kids. sure, a small minority wants to continue the brutality of the last 30 years, but we will win if we want to win.

Clark AB in the Philippines in January 1968 when a little fracas called Tet broke out in Vietnam-what we saw going on from that perspective reminds me of the current affair-yeah, we're winning all right-only problem is that it's going to take a lot longer than anyone thinks and when it's over, any good will left towards us will be gone. History has a nasty habit of biting on the backside those who so obviously fail to learn its lessons.
