CTshore Wx is a good poster at WWBB, and some of his points about how people interact over there are valid, IMO.

HOWEVER-- I think he had his mind made up before he even signed up here, based on what he read over there. Too bad, but to each his own.

As to your comments about the input. Yeah, you are right, but when it comes to input about changing the rules to fit into ones agenda then that is unnacceptable. I highly doubt that input from flamers will get the rules changed.

If my enforcing the rules here offends you or anyone else I am in no way sorry for it. I was taught at a young age to abide by the rules whether I liked them or not.

As for your other comment, I will let the Admins handle that.

LOL....you are one to talk about agendas. Again, the rules are what they are, and I have followed them, and even though it makes you sooooo frustrated, I have every right to comment on them.

(This is the fifth time I have posted this. A certain power hungry mod seems to keep deleting it)

Linda thank you for demonstrating exactly what I have been saying about you and giving Storm2K a bad name. You have deleted several of my posts tonight including deleting this one 4 times. You have been outsmarted, face the facts....no need to be childish and delete posts. Why not let the other users decide what they think of our discussion? What exactly are you afraid of? Or does this just make you feel more powerful? As I said I have a record of all the posts and all the instances in which you deleted. I will be putting this on a page and linking to it in my profile here and at WWBB. Enjoy your night.

How incredibly childish! Why don't you just tell Linda your going to tell your Mommy if she don't stop it! lmao!

I agree. Although I've never posted at WWBB, I've read some of what's over there, especially during the flame wars and it seems that people have a certain opinion of S2K (we're all a bunch of staunch conservatives <guilty!>, we're delete-happy, we don't tolerate certain views -- that seems to be the general consensus).

Now that WWBB is down for the weekend, it seems as though some posters (not all) were restless and disgruntled about not being able to post on their own board. So, in an effort to see how far the envelope could be pushed over here, they came here and started posted.

Again, not ALL WWBB'ers have come here to cause trouble. And we welcome you guys. But we do have certain rules that we all need to abide. I was used to the free-flow of certain Yahoo (non-weather) boards and groups until I came here. Although I cussed mildly over there at times (after 4 years, it's gonna happen), I did keep it to a minimum because that's my nature. So it's not that hard to do over here. I know here that I can't flirt as I did over there nor will I be flirted with. There were more adult jokes and humor at times on Yahoo, but that's because we knew everyone's ages and knew what we accepted and what crossed the line (there are limits, no matter where you go).

It's just like how a person might behave one way when he's at a football game ("What??? Are you blind, you stupid #%$&@! ref!") and another way when he's at church or when he's at work. Although most people tend to behave according to their nature and what you see it what you get, many of us know that we can be a bit more free with our humor, our speech, or our actions in one place and more reserved and refined in other places.

This is one of those places. We're not in church. However, there are kids who post here and there is a standard of civility and maturity that we try to maintain. I'm guilty of crossing it. But I accept the reminders and then move on.

So can we move on? :)

Fascinating.
Attempting to sort through a variety of agendas I think it all boils down to posters asserting their assessment of what is permissable and moderators asserting what they consider permissable. These sites are hosted and as such we get invited to them, we therefore need to ascribe to the conduct that the host establishes. Come to my pool, no running nor diving, you may find that unduely restrictive but can't deal with it-no swimming.

Yes, yes and yes. Case in point, what happened last night after I signed off.

I think it's funny that nobody notices that this is exactly what TWC did leading up to and including Black Wednesday and thereafter. We all hated it. We said we would never do that again. And here is everybody doing exactly the same thing times 2.

Last winter we got an off-topic board at TWC by popular request. All was going well. Then, one day in February, the off-topic board just disappeared. People started asking why and admin gave a crappy answer. Then admin started banning people. And people got mad. And more were banned. Admin also started deleting messages with links to other message boards, which just made the problem worse. Suffice it to say, at that point, TWC was pretty much over. Most of the people from that generation of TWCers came over here to s2k, some, such as myself, ultimately ended up at WWBB.

Widremann, if you find this board so restrictive why did you ask to be re-instated? We haven't changed the rules here since day one. Either accept it or find another place to post where you are more comfortable. It's a pretty easy formula. This is our board and we'll run it the way we feel it needs to be run. You don't have to like it but you also don't have to come here.

Then stay away from the Off-Topic discussions if you can't do it within our rules.....

Well, I think it's a bit hard when liberals are held to different standards that conservatives. I have no problem with rules. I do have a problem with arbitrary enforcement of them.

It has nothing to do with liberal or conservative. As I said before, I had my small share of reprimands from the mods (it wasn't due to a political debate, however). I'm sure other conservatives have as well. The rules are the same for all of us.

I agree Shawn. I am neither Liberal or Conservative but.... The rules apply to everyone. I lost my Moderator status here for three months because I broke the rules. There are no exceptions, case closed

Yes, even this "OLD AND WISE"?????? man has had his reins pulled in by the admin staff before. I really don't understand what is so hard to understand about the rules as they are stated and enforced!!!!!
