Wow enjoy the spring snow! Looks to be around 40 degrees here tonight...cold enough for some frost on roofs possibly.

I saw scenes of the snow on the weather channel today and I have to say I am jealous (I can never get enough snow). We had rain last evening change to fat snowflakes, but nothing stuck. I turn on TWC and I see the grass completely covered in wet snow in TN with its leaved trees draped in white, and I am in MI with no snow! One of the guys interviewed said "snow should fall up north, not here in april"...well I'll take it! It was a cool sight to see. lol I wish next month when we have leaves on the trees we could see a snowfall!

I had snow covering the ground here on sun morning. As a matter of fact, there was snow in the air pretty much all day. The snow melted off most the grass by mid afternoon but remained on some trees and shaded areas all day. how's that for a mid April afternoon and Easter for that matter? I'm not even sure when the last time it hit 50F here now. It looks like Fri should get to 70 I think. If it does, it will be my first 70 of the year. I can't believe my normal high is low to mid 50s. An average day would feel so warm. The grass suddenly started to get green during the warm period in late March but I don't think it has grown since. lol

Looks like this snow will be making its way here into Ohio(Central/Eastern) tonight. Inch or two on grassy areas. Real miserable out now with temps in mid30s and rain. UGH!

Jeez, people! LOL, I only hope that this is
WLL - "Winter's Last Laugh"!! We've done
it all, all day - rain to sleet - sleet to snow -
snow to rain! Good grief - it's supposed to be
up in the 60°F range for highs, tomorrow, and,
gradually work up to mid to high 70's by weekend.
Lows in the upper 40's to low 50's by weekend.
I'm ready to wave BYE-BYE to this system, in
a major way!

I saw the snowfall on the TWC Surface Map this afternoon. The patch of white across extreme western Kentucky and Tennessee was a "fair size" for mid April.

Is that you roardog (Im assuming lol). Yes I know its crazy Trent said there was 1.5" in Essexeville where he was vacationing for easter. And to be honest, since it was chilly, I was hoping, yes hoping, for a white easter to complete my white holidays this winter!
*Thanksgiving...Waiting for the first sticking snow, which occurred just a day late to make a white Thanksgiving.
*Christmas Eve/Day...Snow filled the air all day Xmas eve nite and Xmas day. I measured 3.3"...Detroit only 1.7", but most northern suburbs 4-7".
*Valentines- 0.2" of evening snow, looking like fairy dust, ads to the 3" snowpack.
*St. Patty's- Light snow fluffs down all day, adding 0.4" to the 5.5" fall from the day before, complete with drifts of 2 feet ("only" 3.9" measured at Detroit on the 16/17th)
*Easter- Damn! Missed it :grr:

Yeah the grass has gotten green, but the trees are still totally bare and just looking for one last coat of snow. I am evil...Im the winter-meiser from that one christmas movie where it snows all summer long lol. :grrr: lol j/k I do like spring/summer because its baseball season!!! but by sept im ready for the next winter!

Still snowing in Boone, NC and Wytheville, VA. Bluefield, WV is now over to snow.... flooding going on near Roanoke, VA and near here in Blacksburg, VA. We've had 2-5" of rain in the past three days.

LOL, michsnowfreak, I have all of the folks
that moved south from Michigan and such,
in the office, and, they say, "Trust me - if
you actually lived a winter up there, you would
not like it...!"

Yep, quite impressive,. In fact, they actually had 3.5 inches officially at Jackson,TN. These were record late season snows, and some areas in Alabama had their latest snow ever. Enjoy while it lasts ! :D

I was at my friend's in Essexville on Easter. We had 1.5 inches of snow. There was quite a bit of Huron enhancement, at one point you could clearly see the bands coming in off Saginaw Bay. I just happened to be lucky to be so close to the lakeshore. DTX radar had a little trouble picking up the bands, but TV5 had their radar low enough to see it quite well. The snow continued for most of the day, even though the 1.5 inches melted off just after noon. Even MBS picked up 0.7 inches to bring the seasonal total to 50.2 inches.

lol Yes a lot of people dont like it but a lot cant live without it. One of my grandmas neighbors moved to FL, lived there a year, and came back said she couldnt stand it..she needed seasons...she thought she wanted to get away from the cold and snow but she missed it once she was there. Actually, you can probably ask anyone (in the north) on this board and theyll tell you the same thing. The complainers are who is heard, but there is a near-equal number of people who silently go out to sled with their kids or friends, snowboard or ski at one of the nearby numerous ski resorts (here in MI there are ski resorts EVERYWHERE, even several in the far south of MI), or take a walk in a park looking at the beauty of winter. Or just looking out your window on a clear winter night at the moon shining on the glittery snow...it is something i wouldnt trade for anything. Its really a shame the winter-hating people have to give winter a bad name.

The Detroit Free Press printed an awesome article a few years back called "Snow Rebels" and it talked about such things as Ive been mentioning. The snow lovers are the silent bunch who love winter and go on enjoying it and looking forward to it each and every year. It was a great article because it for once put snow lovers into the limelight.

And whenever we have a late starting winter, where good snows dont begin until after Christmas, the media makes a very big deal "wheres the snow. no one can ski. it doesnt feel like christmas" and on and on. One things for sure, no matter the severity, the weather never gets more attention than it does in the winter months
