Thank you all for your kind words and considerations, the post has received more attention and response than I thought. As such, based on the unexpected demand, I am providing an update.
Of course, the bleeding has stopped but some minor emotional wounding does remain. In addition, the weather alarm is temporarily in the disabled mode. I am getting quite a few comments about the incision on and under my chin, I think I will just let the beard grow in that area for a day or so, and my rating may suffer an according downgrade from 9.5 to 9.25. More later-Thanks

I considered this but I assure you the pics would be too shocking and would have to be deleted.
If the "other place" comes back to life, post them there. seriously!!
Careful, don't ruin my nice thread

Jasmine is about 7 years old and unusally large for a torty, 14 pounds and not fat, quite long. Very pretty and quite a talker but skiddish from day one, sorta like she is still waiting for something bad to happen. I did not get upset with her as the siren startled me also. Her brother, Raja, is a cream tabby and very lovable and unafraid but about as bright as a clam. He gets wound up and runs so hard he runs right into doors and walls and knocks himself silly about once a week.
