Anniversary date today

#1 Postby BEER980 » Mon Apr 19, 2004 6:01 am

It is the 9th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing and the 11th anniversary of Waco. Lets hope that another one is not added to the list today. If we have any members near the Sears Tower in Chicago just be careful. It is hopefully just another wrong warning that will pass without anything happening.

Yes, today's the 19th Beer. I know you've put out the head's up, but let's hope it's a false warning.

I hope that nothing happens and I know that Homeland security has already steped up the security in important landmarks around the US.

I remember both of those events very well...watching them as they were unfolding before our eyes. I still remember the sickening feeling of all the pain and suffering.

Indeed, let's hope we can continue to thwart both domestic and international terror attacks in the days, weeks, and months ahead. I suspect we as a country have covertly eliminated far more risks and risk factors than any of us will ever know.

Ironicly enough, I was up in the Sear's Tower on the 3rd anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing. The band had went on a trip to Chicago my freshman year. Even then, security was tight and, of course, that was before 9-11. I can only imagine how tight security is there now.
