My outlook for hurricane season 2004

#1 Postby cycloneye » Mon Apr 26, 2004 7:09 am

First of all this outlook will be a short but to the point one about what in my opinion will happen in hurricane season 2004.And also this outlook is from me only and not represents all the storm2k forecast team as the other members have their own outlooks .

Well after this brief outlook my numbers will be 13/8/3 and I wont change them during the whole season.

Any comments are welcomed .

I surely can't argue with anything you have stated Luis. That is a good and to the point outlook. I haven't had much time this spring to really sit down and look at things as a whole, but the parts I have been able to piece together so far tell me the same story you told. Looks to be a very active season and even though I said I finalized my numbers I fear all except the number of majors may be one or two number too low. Patterns I am seeing right now suggest to me that indeed the Caribbean and therefore probably the GOM are in for an active season. East coast and to some extent Florida activity will depend on how far West the Azores and Bermuda highs shift and when. There are some indication already that they may be further West than normal which does not bode well for any of our coasts if all the other factors remain as they look to be set up.

Yes I didn't mentioned the GOM but it will be an active area this season.

Great forecast Luis, I have a feeling the islands might see some action this year so keep on your toes. As usual the gulf looks to be active this year as well.
